The final response was that this is considered "normal wear and tear," so they refused to stand behind the product. I wasn't simply asking for a refund. I even offered to exchange the furniture for a higher-quality product and was willing to pay the difference. I just wanted furniture that would last for years, not show excessive wear after only six months. The issue isn't that I expected furniture to remain flawless forever. The issue is that this level of scratching from ordinary daily use is not what I was led to expect when purchasing premium top-grain leather. Had I known it would mark this easily, I would have chosen a different product. My family has purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Kane's over the years, and this experience has been incredibly disappointing.
