Wanted a extra large Christmas tree they had on display with the plan to cut off the lights. The worker said no let me work on it for the weekend to get the lights off. Call Monday and he THREW the tree away because the lights smelt hot. I told him on Friday I was cutting off the lights and wanted it regardless. Will never shop or trust them again. You know, I used to like coming here to find a deal or two. You could find some nice stuff once in a while that needed some work. Well, that's gone now. I'm not sure if they have a new manager, or someone that started watching American Pickers, but they now seem to think everything in the store went up at least 10x in value. I'm not talking stuff that should be $5.00 is $7.00, stuff that is worth $3.00 is marked at $40.00. Hit St Vincent DePaul, Salvation Army, even Goodwill. Walked in today to look for several items related to my remodel and wow, I'm glad I made it out alive. They have SO much garbage packed into so little square footage, it's seriously a hazard to just set foot in the door and after looking at a few of the items it's easy to see why they have so much junk; most of the 'merchandise' has NO PRICE TAG, so you have to ask, and if you do be prepared to laugh out loud. I did, and I got the feeling that the prices are relative to the individual that is asking. I'm not sure when HFH started accepting things fit for the landfill and having the gall to ask ridiculous prices for them, but it's only a matter of time until they have an expensive lawsuit on their hands because a stack of windows toppled on some old lady's head. What a shame that a great organisation like this can be mismanaged so badly. read more
