We absolutely loved our one hour experience at Capyfriends Cafe!…read more Located on the campus of Nacoochee Adventures you will find a quaint little home that has been converted into a small cafe and Capybara lounge. In the far rear room you will come face to face with these gentle, curious, and extremely large rodents. Even if you are slightly timid of animals, it is very easy to forget what they are because they are so sweet and docile. The first 20 minutes or so we were introduced to four Capy's of differing ages. The youngest was about 4 weeks old and the oldest and largest was about 8 months. All were females. We were given a handful of lettuce and carrots each to feed our furry animal friends. The typical amount of paying guests is between 8-10 people, which keeps the encounter intimate and enjoyable. During the next 40 minutes we were introduced to a new animal about every 10 minutes. The friends who came out to play included: a large Guinea Pig, a tiny Hedgehog, a hilarious Armadillo, a small dog-sized Muntjac Deer and the absolutely adorable Fennec Fox babies. Prior to this encounter I don't ever remember having knowledge of these foxes. But now that I've seen them, I will never forget them. They also offer a one hour long VIP MEET THE BABIES experience and a 30 minute Capybara only experience. Prices vary about $50 between experiences, with the CAPYBARA ONLY experience being the least costly and the VIP BABIES being the most costly. Our CAPYBARA & FRIENDS experience was right in the middle @ $125pp. Any experience is great for the whole family, but I would highly recommend the one hour tours. Our hour went by so quickly and we wanted, no, NEEDED more time with all of these wonderful creatures. Afterwards we spent the remainder of our day exploring the fun little German-inspired town of Helen, GA which also happens to be currently hosting Oktoberfest throughout the month of October. So put on your best Lederhosen and Dirndl and come spend a memorable weekend in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Capybara cafe is a great idea and we had a memorable time…read more The highlight of the experience is (obviously) an ability to interact with the animals (there were 3) which makes up for all other limitations. There were some adult ones and some baby ones - all are cute and as chill as you'd imagine them to be. You get to feed them with veggies and pet them. While the concept is great, the execution can use further refinement. I've imagined it being like a cat cafe (and there is a kiosk where you can get alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, which is great). However the ambiance is simply not there as the place reminds of somebody's awkward house. Unlike cat cafe where you can stroll between cats - the capybaras locked in their own room which is only accessible and visible during your designated time slot. The space is underwhelming and needs design. Think of this experience like arranging to meet your favorite celebrity ... at a random chevron gas station down I85 ... it's amazing but also ... weird.

I walked in and was greeted immediately by who I assume is the owner. She was lovely. She spent some time coaching an employee on a drink and she recommended the Freaknik, so I gave it a try and was not disappointed. I also ordered 2 bacon, egg, and cheese croissants for my husband and I. This cozy shop is very convenient for me to get to with being 10min from my house. My only complaint is having to circle around to find street parking, but that's sometimes expected being ITP. I'll definitely be back.

The servers inside of the shop were very friendly and greeted me upon arrival. I ordered the Freaknik, which can be ordered hot or cold. I went with the hot option. The coffee itself was pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the little pieces of brown sugar. I assume that I would consume with each sip. When I got home, I had to stir up some more to break it up but overall good. They had a waffle sandwich that I really wanted to try, but unfortunately, they were out of batter today and likely tomorrow. This took two items off the menu that I really wanted to try this time but I guess I'll have to wait and come around next time. It might be nice to know what to not order in advance because I really didn't have a Plan B when looking at the menu lol. I hope to stop by again soon to be able to update this review .

The boba has great texture and the brown sugar actually adds a dimension to the drink. They have sooo many interesting milk tea options - they have some "safe" options like their Mediocre Latte (basically just a house milk tea), and the Amber (closer to brown sugar milk tea), but I would encourage you to try their floral drinks! I've tried the Glaze, the Moonlight, the Amber, and the Pink Sunset, and all were phenomenal. I really really hope that Glaze Tea gets the recognition it deserves. To top it off, a while ago, I hosted a blind boba taste test with about 10 other friends. We got the most basic milk tea each shop offered from all over the ATL area, and Glaze Tea was ranked #1 out of 10 other spots. We included milk tea from other recognizable spots like Greatea, Chi Cha San Chen, Tea Top, Kung Fu Tea, etc. I was personally shocked when it was revealed that Glaze Tea was #1 because I had just never really come/none of my friends talked about it, but since then I'm a Glaze Tea believer. My only note is I typically get 75% sugar at boba places, but I actually do 100% at Glaze Tea. There is a 5% discount if you pay with cash. Plenty of indoor seating, but they keep the store a bit chilly, so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Service is fast! No 15+ minute wait times or lines out the door.
