Having walked by this butchers a thousand times & had their pies from other shops in the north east I thought it was time to pop in. I was not disappointed by what was on display & for a reasonable price. Like the other reviews it's probably the best butchers for miles. Managed to get some nice pork chops & a large ham. My favorite place to get food in Darlington. The food is nice and simple but delicious. The roasties are to die for(especially with peas and gravy). The Pork and apple pies are great and they do a great quiche too. On top of that the meats they offer are always great quality and the cooked chickens are great for when I'm being lazy. The only problem with the place is that it's so popular and the queue often stretches out into the street. read more

THE place to get your fresh meat, and your pies. It's always busy in there, and you can be waiting a while to be served, but there's a reason for those queues. Taylors make the best pork pies in the country!!! Anyone who has bitten into a freshly cooked pie has a look of sheer pleasure on their face. Along with their pies Taylors provide a fine selection of cooked and raw meats. Its the busiest shop of its kind in the town and has at least 10 staff serving most days. For those who are working in town and looking for dinner you can get a giant portion of roast potatoes with a rich gravy and a choice of meats or pies for a couple of pounds. Taylors is a butchers which has been here for as long as I can remember and as a excellent reputation. Over the years its expanded to sell sandwichs (hot and cold) and mini roast dinners. Taylors is a very popular butchers in Darlington. It is located in Skinnergate and although you cannot park directly outside there is a handy car park between Skinnergate and High Row which makes it easy if you just want to nip in and shop. Taylors is famous for it's pork pies - they are certainly the best I have tasted. They also do a wide range of snacks, sandwiches and meats. On a weekend there can be queues out of the door - don't let this put you off - it is because it is by far the best butchers in town! read more
