We didn't love the tandem was all the hills in the area so after biking down to Scapa Beach we came back and found out that some single bikes were available for the afternoon. They swapped them out for us and we were able to enjoy biking around the harbor in Kirkwall. They were very flexible and told us we could get a lock to return bikes after hours, although we didn't end up needing that. Bike rental fees include helmets. All and all this is a great transport option for good weather days in Kirkwall.
