If you like Hans Christian Andersen, then you will love this museum. A ticket to the museum will get you into the museum, his birthplace, his childhood home, and his home as an adult. You will see visitors from all around the world at this place. read more

I have always wanted to visit so a few friends and I came to see what it was. I was surprised because even though it's not very big, it has many interesting things to see. You come in and buy a ticket in the gift shop, and although it's a bit cliche, they have cute souvenirs there. Once inside it goes through different rooms explaining different parts of his life: Warning: this is the museum. There is also his "childhood home" which you get free entrance to once you buy admission to this museum. It's a ten minute walk from the museum. They have some old artifacts, a nice 15 minute video giving an overview of his life and achievements, and a book collection from over 150 countries where his stories have been translated, along with a replica house of where he lived. If you are interested in HC Andersen, I would recommend coming here and take advantage of both museums. Why not? read more
