This is a genuine and authentic review from a very dissatisfied customer and his wife. We have been buying takeaway from HB Curry for a couple of months now since we discovered this place and once or twice a week; we mostly order their fried chicken and chips which is fine and their Chicken Doner Kebab which on the last two occasions has been disgusting to say the least! To further clarify; on the first occasion (11.03.2012 at 1.45am) I purchased a large chicken doner kebab and when I got home I found it was black and charcoal burnt, very greasy and hardly any choice chichen pieces to eat (it had never been like that before). After a long day, standing around with a video camera at a friends wedding and hardly having anything to eat I was pissed off to say the least and too tired to even consider taking it back and binned it instead and went off to bed. Now on the second occasion (12.03.2012 at 5.30pm) I popped into HB Curry and this time the owner Mr.Hussain was present (who I have just chatted to a couple of times before, but not known to me); I mentioned to him the black charcoal burnt chicken doner kebab I was served and also said it appeared to be filled with grisolhe replied that it was not grisol and that he understood why it appeared that way expecially it being black and burnt charcoal, he said it was due to it being in the heat pan too long that it got that way! I thought ok let me give this a miss and order another one along with some chicken and chips which we did..I know I should have checked right there and then when they took the chicken doner out of the pan (which you cant see them doing because the counter is in the way and at eye level of the customerI would suggest they allow customers to see what they are serving up)and yes you guessed it; as soon as I go home and sat down to eat my chicken doner there again a chicken doner kebab burnt to a cinder, my wife laughed aloud and said thats the last time we buy from there :( I am going to complain for the second time; but knowing that the first time he and his counter staff (who served me on both occasions) had the opportunity to apologise and did not do so; I will not hold my breath as I think the word 'customer' and 'king' are miles apart in their vocabulary! I would just like to end by saying they have lost two regular customers and by posting this review I hope they will realise that they need to pay more attention and listen to their customer needs and provide a better customer service and experience. Finally, some people expect and look for a replacement order or refund or the takeaway offers them one to make amends; but what truly matters is those that would like to hear the words we are very sorry and please accept our apology it will never happen again and believe us when we say that goes a long way in curtailing a review like this one, it does go a long way indeed! read more
