I was told this process would take 6 months so around month 5 I made numerous unsuccessful attempts to reach her by phone, email and stopping by the office which I often found unoccupied on days that were listed as working days on the office door and online. After a month of no contact I reached out to the IRS directly and just discovered that as of posting this review NO AMENDMENT has been made and NO EXTENSION has been filed for. Over 6 months later & nothing has been done resulting in penalty's, attorney fees & late filing fees. I urge anyone considering using this company visit their Better Business Bureau and read the complaints. Also at the time of this review Gina Cummins nor Cummins Accounting & Tax Service are CERTIFIED Public Accountants and are NOT registered with the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examiners. Anyone considering hiring an accountant should visit the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examiners website so you do not have the same experience as me.

I would call to ask questions and it would take weeks for a response. My quarterly sales tax was late because they forgot to submit. When I called to inquire they indicated it slipped through the cracks and I would be responsible for the late fees although it was their issue. Furthermore, they did not submit my business tax extension timely and now I'm getting IRS notices that the late extension not accepted because submitted after the deadline. Upon deciding to go to a tax lawyer to assist with IRS notices and to complete tax filing that was not completed timely, I learned that my business tax filing from the previous year was filed incorrectly. I do not recommend this company for business or personal taxes.

Heck, no one FORGETS to bill $850, they did it out of spite. I've had Les do my business taxes for years. When he left, I continued to use Narron Merritt for my 2021 taxes. It was a huge mistake! I called and emailed for over a month to get my depreciation schedule sent to my new accountant, but they could not be bothered. Going into their office, I got the information in 5 minutes and found a HUGE mistake they made on my 2020 taxes and my 2021 taxes. They had the nerve to tell me I needed a new accountant if the one I have couldn't find the depreciation on my 2021 taxes, when it turns out Narron Merrit didn't transfer my depreciation over from 2020. Great accounting once again! and they had the nerve to give me an $850 bill that they FORGOT to give me last year after messing up my taxes! We all know good accountants keep good books, right? Oh, but they did offer to "TRY" and fix them for free. Ummm NO! The word "TRY" said it all. The $850 bill said it all. Multiple times I told them I wasn't happy getting emails about my taxes that said "Here are your taxes; just sign and send," but they couldn't understand that I needed them explained. I told them they messed up on my taxes because I shouldn't have owed anything, but they had nothing to say. It was a generic email: "Just sign and send." Then, the day before Thanksgiving, I got a call that something wasn't done right and I needed to sign a form. WHAT? " But I signed and sent it," as your email said. "Turns out they did something wrong and waited until THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING to figure it out. I even got a letter from the government telling me my request for an extension was denied. They were so late on my taxes that the government said "NO!"
