Buyer beware. Do your research before using this location. We had an appointment time but we were kept waiting for 45 min. Ok, fine; I get that it's tax season and busy. However, once we were seen, we felt we were being rushed and our questions were not clearly answered. We also couldn't see the screen as our info was being inputted. We were told by the person helping us that they would file our taxes within the week, but that didn't happen. I then got a call on Sunday saying our taxes would be sent to us that night for review. Nothing came. On Wednesday, I followed up with a text to see the status of our return but didn't hear back. I waited till the end of the week to see if I'd get a response. When nothing was communicated, I got fed up with the lack of response and sent my husband to pick up all of our papers so we could file elsewhere. Once he picked them up, then they started communicating (numerous texts and phone calls saying they had sent the return to review, which was not true). This location has terrible service, is lacking in communication, and promises a refund when that is not the case. Save yourself the trouble and go to an actual CPA. And do NOT pay anything before your taxes are filed- so thankful we didn't pay up front. read more

H&R Block has lost our business due to this location. I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. The last time we did our taxes at this location was very frustrating, unprofessional, and time consuming. Marcelle took months to finalize our taxes and communication and follow-through was lacking. We had to call multiple times to see what was going on. Our original tax documents needed to be mailed back to us as we had moved by the time everything was wrapped up and even getting that to happen ended up impossible. The tax professional said she'd send it right away, however, after calling a month after we thought our taxes were filed to see where our documents were, turned out she had never mailed us our documents so we ended up picking it up in person despite living far away. Even more frustrating was that we paid to have our taxes filed in January but their system either had a glitch or the tax professional didn't catch it not going through. We called in April to see where our tax return was and turned out it had never been submitted. For having already paid a decent amount of money to have our taxes submitted, it should have been submitted or we should have received a notification that it hadn't gone through. The whole processes from seeking help with taxes to finally having them submitted took 5 months. There were many excuses throughout this whole process. I understand life happens and people may get sick or have an overwhelming load, however, when the price is this high to file taxes and there are so many frustrations along the way, there is an issue. I'd understand one or two problems but there were multiple issues with the tax professional, the branch, and the software. I'd much rather take my business elsewhere or file myself when it's this much of a hassle with H&R Block. My frustration isn't with just the tax professional. The branch itself had issues. Whenever I asked to speak with a manager, the office staff would end up just having Marcelle call rather than escalating it or having us work with another professional as we verbally requested. There were multiple occasions where this branch's systems were down as well which shouldn't have been happening so often. read more

I requested help on a daily basis with my taxes for a solid week from Marcelle Wahba after she provided me her personal cell number and promised to help me. got no where. She promised me call backs, never called back. For a solid 5 days I had to reach out to her, and Nothing. I managed to visit another company and they helped me much more but I wouldn't use this HR block ever again- find a different location. (It's seriously awful lol.) read more

After moving out of the Valencia area, I chose to come back to the Valencia H & R Block office because my daughter had worked with Marcelle and received help with a challenging tax situation. I made an in person appointment and gave her my tax information with an agreement to make a followup phone appointment to finalize my returns. I made the appointment through the receptionist and was led to believe Marcelle would be calling me, but that was not the case. I waited and after 15 or 20 minutes called the office, but was hung up on 3 times. I gave up and then called the office a few days later and Marcelle answered and said I never made the appointment and she hadn't filed the extension she said she would because she thought I didn't want to continue. The returns were eventually completed via a phone meeting and were filed after the deadline which led to a sizable penalty due to her not filing the extension. Marcelle said she could help me get the penalty refunded, but never followed through. On top of that, her calculations had me pay more than I owed on both the state and federal returns. Marcelle is very knowledgable about the IRS and tax laws, but the office is very disorganized and they aren't clear on how they operate or what they expect you to do. I would not recommend them to anyone for any reason. Very disappointed. read more

I filed my taxes back in March/ maybe beginning of April, I still have not received my return. I never had a problem with H&R Block in the past ... but this is ridiculous! I've called numerous times and the one time someone answered they were in the middle of doing something & said they'd give me a call back ... still waiting on a call back. I'm only 23 and my taxes are pretty simple to file ... just a W-2 , all the offices are closed and no one has has answered my call in months now. Please can some help me figure out how to get my return. I payed $250 out of pocket bc the tax expert said I shouldn't pull it out of my return ... so ya I'm not sure what to do :( read more

Very unprofessional, unethical, and stressful experience during the whole process: agent was 1 hour late to our virtual meeting and pretended she called me but that I didn't pick up. The meeting was unprepared and completely rushed and she was unable to show her screen. Following this meeting, I sent her a few questions but didn't get any answers. When I called her a few days later, she claimed that she didn't receive my (2) emails sent through the H&R platform. Then she proceeded to submit my tax return the day of the deadline even though I signed it a few days before. In her rush, she forgot to attach a form and, instead of admitting her mistake, she said that I didn't provide it (my check list with all the documents I provided conveniently disappeared when I got my file back). H&R refunded my tax preparation fee but I never get reimbursed for the IRS penalty due to the late submission of the supposedly missing form. I highly recommend to stay away from this office. read more

Did our taxes in 2017 and screwed up up so bad that I've been getting letters from IRS for over a year stating that I owe them over $350k due to a mistake she made. For over a year now they say they are fixing the problem but yet here I am sitting In Their office. Marisol has been "helping" and I use that word lightly because her and her manager Kathleen can't even bother to answer my calls or texts. I came in today and Kathleen wouldn't even look at Me for like 10 minutes and then she lied that she no longer has her phone and that's why she didn't answer me but yet it's her on the voicemail and marisol just doesn't answer my text or calls on her cell phone. if you choose this location to do your taxes you better sit down and go over everything as if you were the tax preparer. First time I have ever came here and it was not a pleasant experience. I came here because I was having unexpected trouble while filing online and wanted to do my taxes with a professional for peace of mind. I was placed with Jordan. A truly unpleasant, unfriendly and a condescending attitude tax "professional." All my questions seemed to bother him and I assume he acted that way towards me since I'm in my early 20s.
