I also explained that I had property in CA so I would have to file there and in DC where I resided for part of the year. They assured me that they could do it. When I went in for an appointment I just sort of felt they like ignore you for the most part. I started to give all my documents to the lady that was going to prepare my taxes and have a seat in front of her and she looked at me like I was crazy. She didn't bother asking me any questions or look at the papers and thought I'd just walk out and trust her to do the taxes... Ummm I again explained about the complicated tax situation. So she finally went through the papers and asked quite a few questions that, had I left, would have made it impossible for her to do the taxes without calling me quite a few times. So I answer all her questions and of course she has no clue what she's looking at. She gets all the basics and says they should be ready the next day. No... I get there and they of course can't do the PR taxes, I expected that, but then tell me I owe something like 12 or 15K dollars in taxes. Yeah, apparently they didn't understand Federal Law related to Puerto Rico earnings either. I, as the non-professional tax preparer had to explain to her the Federal Foriegn tax credit and Puerto Rico's situation with the Fed. She assured me that a supervisor would review the docs and get back to me. They got back to me and basically told me that they couldn't do the taxes. I could either pay for CA and the bad Fed paperwork or I could just pick up my tax papers and go somewhere else. These people are the same as HR Block. A bunch of part timers taught how to use a basic tax computer program that anyone can buy (Turbo Tax, Hello!) and charge you hundreds of dollars for filling in the blanks. If you have a really difficult tax problem find a professional.

Again, I am a federal employee, and with all that is going on in/with the federal government, you don't think I know the stakes for me? You don't think I know my own bank account number? I…read moreswitched to Mary Snider's office a few years ago and State Farm has progressively gotten worse, incorrect billing, incorrect information, repeated errors that take months to resolve with numerous calls and emails. She tried to blame me the client, as well as underwriting, stating that properties require local management. I notified her that all properties have local DC management located only a few blocks away and I as well am DC based. She made a mistake and simply cannot accept that. It cost me time, money, and stress all of which could have been avoided if she had updated my record to correct State Farm's error. Overall a hot mess of a service. Avoid her office.
