Well, they did make a mistake by just not checking a small box that stated my kids live with my wife and me. This resulted in us owing the IRS, but just before we paid the IRS, H&R called us because they had noticed the mistake they had made and asked to refile it with this amendment, resulting in a refund. We waited forever, knowing it would take a long time because an amendment they filed resulted in the old-fashioned check by mail. It never came, so we called H&R because by now we had received a collection notification from the IRS in the mail. H&R had us sign power of attorney over to Ann, the owner, so she could act on our behalf. She has gotten it so screwed up that I got a refund in the mail and owed for the same year, all in the same month. Ann told us it was no big deal and it would be taken care of.
