Friendly, Competent, Efficient. First - H&R's software (online and the one you need to install) is a joke: I almost paid TWICE as much as I should have in taxes!!! TWICE! The way the software calculates deductions is not right. Second - I went to the H&R Block office in town and they fixed my taxes, gave me an amazing price, and saved me $1500 - and that's a lot when you're a graduate student! Short: I highly recommend having your taxes done professionally and I think H&R is a good choice - and potentially the only one in Laramie anyway :( read more

H&R Block in Laramie Wyoming has the worst customer service I have had as far as preparation for taxes go. I talked with a lady over the phone and told her I needed to file an amended return. She had asked what the situation was and then referred me to her Manager for clarification. The Manager asked what the issue was and after I told him, suggested an amended return. I had to filed an amended return last year and was familiar with the process. I asked if I needed to come in or if I could go online. He had no idea what the online process was but said they charge $70.00 to prepare an amended return. I told him that last year when I went in I was helped with no additional fees. He then asked me my name and how to spell it 3 times so he could look up my file information. He said he could not find any of my file information and the fee would be $70.00 for their services. I said ok? Can get in today and he replied "oh absolutely not" and by this point I was feeling the lack of willingness to help and find a solution (while in the past I have walked in and been helped) so I told him I would no longer be filing with H&R Block in the future because it doesn't seem like they are willing to help their customers. He replied "okay, thank you" and hung up. Obviously this manager doesn't want to keep customers or have good customer service skills....which shows how the rest of the staff must be. read more

Worst tax preparation in Laramie. My preparer fouled up my Obamacare section a dozen times before I had to tell her how to do it. She screwed up my schooling credit loosing me close to a grand in returns. Mis quoted the cost of the perpetuation by $70. But after an hour slogging through a simple return I was to tired to fight it. Don't even get me started on what horrors they put my sister through. AVOID THEM! read more
