I went in there thinking I'd have the best possible person for the job, not saying all H&R Block prepares are bad just seems that I was audited in 2017 (Waukegan,Il) as well 2018 (Kenosha,WI). WTF?! I gave them every- little- piece of supporting/ documentation that a person could have in preparation of tax time. Long story short, due to "their" prepares mess-up, per Corporate policy, I am ultimately responsible. Therefore, all H&R Block is going to do for me is refund my what I had paid for having them so "graciously" prepare my taxes.
Note: if you as the consumer do not under completely what is being prepared in you 1040-EZ, or whatever format you use during taxes time, then time to hit-the-books.
Once you sign on the dotted line, your responsible for what is in that packet. Stay in the know. Use the "free" tools from IRS website for example, FAQs from information hotlines and websites to help you gain a sense of security/ command and control regarding your tax preparation, deductions, 1099s,1095C etc..
