I used H&R Block for the first time at the beginning of March. The "tax specialist" that did my taxes was very nice and accommodating, she did my taxes quickly and seemingly flawlessly so I was very satisfied. Then after almost an entire month of waiting for my return to direct deposit (which shouldn't take more than a week or maybe 2 realistically), I decided to look a little deeper into the paperwork that was given to me. That's where I spotted the first mistake. She forgot one number on the end of my bank account number after I read her my account number clearly several times. One little zero. So I immediately went in, discussed the issue with her civilly as I'm not one to act belligerently because I know mistakes happen, and she told me that they'd be sending me a paper check instead and I should get it by the 1st of April. After this meeting, I was informed that I also now have to pay an extra fee for my bank rejecting the deposit. As you can imagine, I started to get frustrated at this point. The first came and went, no check, so then they told me it'd be the 3rd. The 3rd came and went and then they told me it'd be the 5th. You can guess what happened on the 5th. No check. So after calling several customer support lines, the woman on the line proceeds to tell me that the "tax specialist" seemed to have also left off the apartment number when she took down my address. So my return was sent back to Kansas City to be re-processed. I'm now supposed to have an appointment to start the process of getting my check back on Monday, April 11th. Just to start the process. I'm very frustrated and disappointed that I paid this woman 150 dollars to do a job she supposedly specializes in and I'm now paying even more for her mistake AND I'm still a few weeks out from receiving whatever is left of my return.
I will never use their tax services again and if you do, keep a VERY close eye on what they're typing and the accuracy of the information. read more
