This has to be quite possibly the worst H&M I have ever been to in terms of service and merchandise selection. While they carry a lot of departments, the actual merchandise they carry is just OK.
The employees here are either miserable or hating life to the point where they are looking for people to argue with. I was waiting for a friend to be finished in the fitting room, and apparently because I was standing around the fitting room - I was being suspicious. The fitting room attendant who was very well an adult in her 40's continued to stare me down and use secret code to tell another colleague that I may be suspicious. (I worked for H&M for 5 years in other states, therefore I understood their code words). A manager, a male in his 40's - 50's decided to stand with her and watch me while whispering and pretending to be occupied with folding shirts. I don't understand what about me is suspicious except for I am standing in one place, carrying a huge bag, and texting on my phone. What a threat I am! I assume they felt this way because I was bored, and done looking around the minute I really entered the store. But my friend was trying on a million things and taking her sweet ass time. So I probably circled the store about 4 - 5 times just wandering around and talking on my phone on and off.
After they started getting weird, I decided to walk away and try to call my friend who I thought was in the fitting room. Turns out she had been done and was already in line to check out. I went and stood with her, and saw the manager walk up the counter to watch us. I looked him into the eyes and waited for him to approach me. He then felt uncomfortable and walked away. I rolled my eyes. While in line, I saw the two cashiers start bickering and yelling at each other about their attitudes. The cashier we had THEN decided to start taking out her argument with a colleague at my friend who was pleasant and checking out with a huge smile. At this point, I knew EVERYONE that worked here was either paranoid or hated life. We finally checked out and left the store.
This store needs a major shape up in employee attitudes, even the manager himself needed to be encouraged to provide better customer service. The store was not that busy yet, they were all acting as if it was black Friday and they were going to be there all night.
Note to employees; Remember all, it's a job where you do what you have to do. And you go HOME without having to think about work, or bring it home with you. So provide the customer service you need to provide, and be your hateful self when you get home. If you can't do that, then retail is not your thing. read more
