Our room on the corner of the top floor (302) had an expansive view of the sea and beach-just a stones throw away. The English speaking front desk team couldn't have been any more friendly, helping us with dinner reservations and suggestions for sightseeing, parking and fetching our car, and just making us feel welcome. Our room had a beach side balcony with a small bistro table and two chairs plus a chaise lounge. The new, soundproof glass doors allowed us to open up the room to enjoy the fresh air and sound of the sea. Being just feet from the sand made us really feel like we were at the beach. Breakfast was not included in our room rate but the buffet (€18) had ample food and a nice variety of fruit, breads, meats and more. Plus you only pay if you eat it-on our last day we had an early departure so weren't charged for breakfast. The updated bathroom featured a luxurious rain shower with an optional wand. Bath amenities were nothing special but that was a minor nit compared to the comfort of the room and it's king sized bed, small sofa and beautifully restored ancient-wood floors. Now we got a bit lucky with Weather enjoying early spring sunshine in late April that allowed us to go barefoot on the golden sandy beach. If all that wasn't enough reason to stay here, this is a family owned small business so you'll like be dealing with Thomas (4th gen) and his dad (3rd gen) and it's clear they've kept up a steady level of investment in the property over time including adding the third story in 2017. The original property dates from the late 1709's but you'd never know it as it has been lovingly cared for and updated. A TRUE GEM in the Basque Country. Highly, highly recommended

Bel hôtel particulier du siècle dernier aux chambres et suites raffinées devant leur jardinet privatif. Attrayant encore, ce restaurant perché en haut du parc où le lierre dehors et dedans, et les chouettes, dans une spectaculaire collection, confèrent une atmosphère étonnante. C'est cela le Parc Victoria et plus encore. They offer breakfast in the morning, a comfortable lobby and a safe for all valuables. Knowing French is helpful for conversing with some of the employees. US-European outlet adapter is a must have as well.
