RPEL is a cool hipster joint that serves fries made from organic potatoes here in the city of Eindhoven in the southern part of the Netherlands. The vibe is cool and ambience is hip and casual. The Dutch people consider fries to be their main course, not an appetizer. Therefore places like this are quite packed during lunch and dinner times. RPEL also has gourmet dipping sauces to accompany your fries with such as mayo, Belgian mayo, BBQ, curry sauce, applesauce (a German thing) and their new citrus and truffle mayos. The citrus had the nice touch of actual lime zest sprinkled on it, and the truffle mayo was definitely delicious. They also have a variety of other friend foods to snack on. Yes. They also have Belgian mayo here (a bit more sour), along with all the other sauces that most fry shacks in Holland carry, such as speciaal (mayo, curry ketchup, & onions) & oorlog (mayo & satay sauce). My only gripe is that I never know when they open. They seem to be closed most of the times that I want to eat from them... which I guess is pretty much every time I pass by the area. haha. :P ok. nevermind. Let's start with the location; it is a good location and usually easy to find a parking spot expect prime time. Ambiente: nice and clean, you can also sit outside. Service: well, it is good for german standard, they are friendly but not really obliging. FOOD!!! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Fries were OK but my burger was just terrible. I just couldn't eat it and I felt very sick after. Unfortunately it was for to go, so I had no chance to send it back. How ever, I hope they will improve their quality.

The menu is decent, but definitely different than in the US. I chose the Seven Layer Burrito and ordered it without sour cream. So maybe I made it a Six Layer Burrito. I got it with Mountain Dew (of course). The cashier asked me if I wanted my food with nachos or fries and I had to choose fries because WHAT COULD THAT BE? It turns out, the seasoned fries from Taco Bell NL are delicious. This visit fulfilled my craving for Taco Bell. It wasn't a regular Taco Bell trip but it was still really nice and quite satisfying.

Taco Bell is exactly what I remember -- in fact, it's tastes like the best memories I have of the Bell. Like every other fast food restaurant, a side of sauce is extra, but there are three levels of heat for all meats, so I presume the mild, hot and fire sauces are already in the food. Still - fast service and good food, for less cost than the crummy Taco Mundo knockoff. We had the Nachos Supreme, a Stuft chicken burrito and a crunchwrap. While the chicken was perfectly fine, we both loved the beef nachos and crunchwrap. No steak on the menu, but carnitas - which I think would suit the stuft burrito better. The place has 2 floors of seating, a couple little couch areas and a table up front with plugs, like at schiphol, so you can plug in your laptop and get work done. Hopefully they can expand to outdoor seating. I'll be very happy indeed when they expand to the Randstad.
