Highlights include a rock garden, a kitchen garden that grows hundreds of vegetables, and an herb garden with an 18th-century summerhouse. Gothenburg Botanical Gardens is open year round and is a perfect place to walk, rest, admire, and reflect. Gayle and I recently visited the Gothenburg Botanical Garden during a shore excursion off our Oceania Cruise ship. As with most of these kind of tours, we really only experienced a small taste of what this wonderful oasis offers. However, our tour guide was very good at accenting some of the highlights. They also have a nice gift shop, of which I picked up nice illustrated 2024 calendrer. Please enjoy some of my pictures.

The todays are either fish or meat and gave me the good old feeling of cantina food - in a good way! The lunch is SEK89 and includes salad, bread, beverage, coffee/tea and a cake. Today it was princess cake!! So it's not just the ordinary dry dusty cookie. They have extended their venues to include the next door restaurant as well, so it is pretty roomy. Lunch is served all the way in on the street floor. I've been here later in the evening as well. Somehow it gets too loud and you have a hard time hearing your party. The nightclub upstairs is rather messy, loud and awkward. The place you go when you should be going home... They accept AMEX.

Going to an Irish pub in Sweden seemed a little silly, but it had its own flavor. The Irish bartender was very friendly and very helpful, telling us which beers were local and/or the good beers. They had a good selection of beers, whiskeys and other drinks.
