Great stop if you're in the area. If you enjoy thrifting you would enjoy going here. They do their research before selling stuff so don't expect a come up, there's a goodwill down the street for that. I absolutely adore this place. When I first walked in, it was much larger than expected. There is a section of clothing shoes, furniture and decorative objects. On the day I went, there was a 50% off day and the prices were a steal. I will be back. Highly recommend. read more

My wife had a disappointing experience as shown below. She won't get burned again. Go into this place understanding the owners rules. "Double check the quality of any furniture you buy at Gypsy Trunk because there is a no return, no money back on defective furniture. Kathy flat out told me that their store is a consignment shop. I paid $75 per chair for a kitchen table. One of the chair legs broke when my son went to sit down. I just got the kitchen set a few months ago. I sent messages to Kathy which she never returned so I called. I learned not to buy furniture from a consignment shop. Kathy's attitude wasn't appreciated either." read more

Over the years, I've always dropped off a big bag of clothes to sell & began to notice no Matter what I dropped off, my amount given for my clothes was ALWAYS $22. My closet is 70% Loft/AnnTaylor (They always have 50% off). So, the last time, I dropped off 6 BAGS of LOFT/AT/Tons of Buckle jeans from the guys in my life, etc. My Amount given was...$22!! Drove the distance for what I was told an acknowledged and expected visit to leave clothes. Once there I was turned away and clothes were not being accepted. Not even looked at. No matter to the fact of my wasted gas and time. I wouldn't have wanted to leave any items in this cram packed and overpriced resale junky store. I did thumb through some racks finding worn out and outdated and out of season clothing priced at retail prices. I won't bother with a place like this or return. They have some very cool stuff. From dishes to clothes to furniture. The problem is the prices are ridiculously high. $27 for a knockoff small Brighton looking fake leather wallet. Wedding dresses that are at least 20 years old that have never been cleaned, and are stained for around $200. Several other items that would either cost the same or cheaper new. read more

It's not really a thrift store at all it's decent pricing but when I think of thrifting I think of under 5 dollars for a shirt and that wasn't the case here. Though it's in a great location. This is really more of a furniture store rather than a clothing thrift store. Never actually went back after my first visit. read more

Great place to shop! They have all kinds of fun stuff. The last Saturday of every month is 50% off everything! The employees are very helpful and nice. The only problem is that everything you buy smells like the place for a while. I bought a purse there, and I have had to spray it with Febreze a few times. !!!!! DO NOT SHOP/DO BUSINESS AT GYPSY TRUNK !!!! I have had the most terrible experience with Cathy (the store owner) over the past few days. First of all, I have been a loyal customer at her store for years. I have shopped, bought, and have even done consignment at her store for which we have both been profitable. A few days ago, I walked into her store during the afternoon ready to drop off some nice clothes for consignment. This was on a day that she knew I was coming to her store as she had told me to come this day because this was when she was accepting clothes. When I walked in, I could tell that she was busy but I had driven a long way there and I did not want to have to return at a later date. I stood there for probably 10 minutes and did not get acknowledged or welcomed into the store once. In the duration of the time that I was there she had answered two phone calls and was frantically walking around behind the counter and still, no acknowledgement. Finally, she opened her register and laid out some cash on the counter (from a previous consignment that I had with her) and stated my total. That was it, no "have a good day" or anything. I walked out of there feeling like I was only a bother to her and I did not even mention the new clothes I had for her to do a new consignment with. I figured this was just a bad day for her since she was so busy, so I decided to reach out to her through their Facebook page. I stated that I did not appreciate walking into a store and basically being ignored but I did not want to lose business with her since I am the most profitable at her store. I suggested that we set up an appointment to do business even if was for a few minutes, so she could look through my new clothes. I did get a response that included an apology. They also stated, "A non-greeting is NEVER our normal, as we want EVERYONE to feel like a part of out Gypsy Trunk family." They then suggested to return another day a few minutes early before the store opened so that we would have time to do business together. So, that is exactly what I did this morning. I packed up my clothes and brought them into the store. When I walked in, there was again nobody behind the counter. Cathy finally started to walk from the back of the store over to me, I was the first to speak telling her that I left my clothes there for her to look at. Her first response was "Are you sure you want to do that since you weren't acknowledged?!?" I stood there in disbelief and she went on to tell me that the previous day that I came in they were really swamped. I told her that I understood that they were busy but as I customer, the least respect I should get is a greeting. Her response to that was "Well you didn't say anything to me either." Now I know that I am a lot younger than she is but as far as I am concerned that was the most childish response she could have said. She then started to come up with excuses about how apparently she "hand gestured" hello to me when I came in and that she was helping another customer (there was nobody there that day) and she didn't have time to greet me. I asked her who wrote the Facebook message on the Gypsy Trunk site to me apologizing and to come back and she stated that was her daughter. Cathy didn't even write the apology, I am sure if it were up to her she wouldn't even had bothered apologizing to me in the first place. The conversation basically ended with "Well I don't even want your clothes" which was followed with her walking away. I wrote back to the daughter on Facebook and told her what happened today. I then learned that she didn't even tell her mother about the apology and to return to the store a few minutes early. She said that her mother was "caught off guard by seeing me before they were open." Well so was I...to be apologized to online and then returning to a store as instructed only to be treated like absolute crap. Even if Cathy did not read the Facebook message, this is still no excuse to be treated the way that I was which is why I will NEVER return to this store again. I highly advise for anyone reading this to please hear me out and spread the word about my experience, so nobody is treated this way in the future. This is 100% unacceptable and Cathy does not deserve to be a business owner if she feels she can treat her customers this way. read more

While this business did have some nice things, don't utilize their "layaway" system. We were on the fence about a furniture purchase and the salesperson was more than happy to promote layaway as an option. After convincing from her, we decided to move ahead with a layaway purchase, with assurances that if we changed our mind that we could get our money refunded. They told us that we would have 60 days to pay it off or it would be released again for sale. We made an additional payment a week later (which took us to more than 60% of the item paid off.). Then life happened and we were not able to get back. More than 60 days past, so we assumed we had forfeited the furniture piece, so we went back to ask for a refund. We assumed we would have to pay a 15% - 20% restocking fee (though none was mentioned when we bought it) but were told that we were forfeit all of the money we had paid. They claimed that this is "what they always do". If you choose to shop here, just make sure that life doesn't get into the way of the layaway business because they won't care and will steal your money. read more

The best kept secret is located in the heart of downtown Burleson. The owner and staff are so professional and go the extra mile for vendors and customers. The shop has something for the collector or those looking for something unique. Our family has done business with Gypsy Trunk for 10 years and couldn't do without the hometown feeling. read more

Don't take anything there for them to sell. They will not pay you what they owe or return the items. My mother has been trying for months now to contact them and not only are they rude when they do answer but they're always going to have it ready the next week and when they do tell you to come by then when you get there the person who you need to speak with is not there.
