You can at least expect your child to obtain a good education for sending them to a catholic…read moreschool. However what you don't get to see is what goes on behind the closed doors once you drop your child off at school. The teachers are over worked, underpaid and the building itself is understaffed. How can a child get the most of the teachers attention when they are in a classroom with a teacher who has to give attention the a few children because they are deemed problem children and need the extra attention. While other children are being left to the side because the teachers just cannot deal with the rest of the class at that time. Not to mention letting teachers go with actually telling them why they were let go other than you do not go with our mission. Your mission means nothing when you as a management team cannot even follow the mission. When summer camp comes around it seems like it is okay for the students to be outside in 100 plus degrees heat as long as they are doing water play but according to the DHA they are not supposed to be outside when it's that hot no matter if water play is going on or not. You can do better for the children and for the staff. Times are changing and it is time the ways of thinking change with it. It is not a family there if you are not in with the in group then you are the outcast and looked down on. Time to get over that you are not in high school any more..

First Presbyterian of Ambler is a great community of people led by a couple of great pastors…read more My honest thoughts are that this community is thriving and is prayerfully seeking out how they can better serve the surrounding community. Pastors Ryan and Langdon are very friendly and humble guys who welcomed my wife and I from our very first Sunday. To give you a quick idea, we met them on our first Sunday there and the next Sunday without having communicated with them at all, they remembered our names and asked how we were doing. A few weeks after that, I was able to speak with them both more and was incredibly humbled by how kind and intentional they both are with building relationships. Their sermons are second to none. It's evident that they put a great deal of prayerful effort into preparation. It was honestly what kept us coming back when we first started visiting. They have regular series and take time to exegetically work through a passage. I could go on for a while about that, but just know that their sermons are personal, passionate, Scriptural, and intentional. There is a traditional service as well as a contemporary service. We attend the contemporary service which is always full of friendly people. The music is also contemporary and has multiple instruments. There is child care during the services, a youth ministry, small groups, and many other ministries. Communion is administered weekly which is something that was important to us. If you have any other questions about my experience here feel free to contact me! You can also call the church office, they are always willing to help.

There's something especially meaningful about a UU Water Communion. BuxMont Unitarian Universalist…read moreFellowship's "Gather at the River" Ingathering was a beautiful example of why. The service invited people to bring water from somewhere meaningful in their lives. It could be from an ocean or stream, but just as easily from a kitchen tap or garden hose. Those individual waters coming together became a simple but powerful reminder of interdependence: we each arrive with different stories and experiences, but together we create a community. The service wove that theme through story, song, and ritual. What I appreciated most was how accessible the symbolism was. You don't need to share a particular theology for water, connection, and belonging to mean something. That is part of what keeps drawing me to UU congregations. There is room for faith, doubt, Humanism, spirituality, and questions that may not have easy answers. BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship also offers its Sunday services both in person and online, making it easier to explore the community before ever walking through the doors. If you're in the Bucks or Montgomery County area and have never heard of Unitarian Universalism, this could be a wonderful place to experience it for yourself. And if you already know UU, BuxMont is worth putting on your list to visit. Bring whatever you believe, whatever you question, and whatever life has taught you so far. There's room for your water in the river, too.

I would like to say that my most recent experience with BMUUF was pleasant and inviting, but sadly…read moreI cannot. This involves two long-time members who took it upon themselves to yell at me at the last service I attended. To keep it short, I volunteered to be on a committee in which of the 2 in question suggested that I be a part of a committee. The offer was unknowingly withdrawn- by an alleged email, text or some other way that I NEVER received. When I asked a question about level of commitment, one of the two members took it upon herself to give me a dressing down in the middle of the coffee hour. I always looked upon BMUUF as my home church, however it turns out it is a toxic family that feels free to yell at people instead of having a reasonable conversation.
