From the moment we started working with Ed, up until our wedding reception in April 2025, he was nothing short of consistent, professional, and a joy to communicate with. It's immediately clear that Ed has years of experience in the industry, having worked at countless weddings -- he truly knows his craft. Ed was the heartbeat of our wedding reception. His passion for what he does is undeniable, and it shows in every interaction. He's a true professional who wants nothing but perfection for your special day. Throughout the planning process, he was quick to respond to every email and phone call, and each conversation felt more like chatting with a close friend than a vendor. In the months leading up to our wedding, we had several calls where Ed took the time to really get to know us -- our love story, backgrounds, the vibe we wanted to create at our reception, and of course, our musical tastes. He even recommended adding special songs to specific moments in our timeline, and let me tell you, it made a huge impact! Some of our calls lasted almost two hours, which just goes to show how invested he is in making your day exactly what you envision. And, as a lovely surprise, Ed threw in extra lighting at no charge because he's that passionate about creating the perfect atmosphere for you. When we finally met Ed at our wedding reception, it truly felt like a family embrace. His warm, positive, and friendly personality made us feel like we'd known him for years. He really looks out for you and ensures you have the best time, which we absolutely did. Ed played all the songs from our curated playlist, and the dance floor was packed all night. He's also a naturally gifted emcee, and everything he said over the microphone flowed effortlessly. If you're looking for a professional with extensive experience AND an incredible personality, don't hesitate to book Ed for your wedding. You won't regret it. Mahalo, Ed, for everything you did and more. It was an honor having you at our wedding, and we can't wait to visit the Big Island and cross paths again in the future! With love from your gangsta couple, Esther & Ryan

The music, the man, DJ Ed Geer. I nicknamed him, "The Voice," as soon as I heard him over the PA…read moresystem. Found out later that he used to be on the radio. My niece's destination wedding was held at the Kona Salt Farm in February 2026. I was a guest but also assisted with the planning and coordination as none of us were from Kona. Initially, the plan was to have recorded music with a friend serving as the emcee. Having worked for an entertainment company (not as a performer) I was very happy when the couple decided on hiring a professional DJ instead. Timing is critical on a show, and I got spoiled expecting that in every type of performance/event I attended. Ed provided the sound system and mic'd the groom and officiant for the ceremony while the main set up was in the reception area of the oceanfront sandstone. The bridal couple worked with Ed on the playlist for the ceremony, pupus/hors d'oeuvres reception, dinner and dancing. Not until sunset, did I notice the lighting focused on Ed's set up as well as the "stage/dancing" area. The soft uplighting at the foot of the speakers' stands added such a beautiful ambience to an already incredible setting. Ed is a consummate professional, with a great personality, easy to work with and very accommodating. He kept the entire event in smooth harmony from ceremony, reception, to the couple's sparklers send-off. Everything flowed perfectly, thanks to Ed. Nothing comes to mind when everything's running smoothly. It's only noticeable when there are glitches or uncomfortable pauses. We had none. From the flower girl & boy to the ring bearer, young adults and even seniors, he had the place hopping. It was great seeing everyone having so much fun and enjoying themselves. I can't imagine we would have had the same excitement and light show or expended energy with taped music. The guests did not want the evening to end . . . what more can you ask for? A great wedding celebration with happy guests not wanting to leave! All thanks to Ed "The Voice" Geer.

The best. Above and beyond feels too trite to describe how Cheryl handled our ceremony, but above…read moreand beyond is how she operated in every possible way and our day was meaningful and poignant and we could not have imagined it better. On our first conversation, Cheryl said to me "Let me handle all the stress, you just get to Hawaii." I didn't have to worry about a thing; it was one of the easiest partnerships I've ever had with someone I'm working with to plan something. Cheryl went out of her way to accommodate every detail and request we asked for, from having our ukulele player learn our song (They Love Each Other by The Grateful Dead) on a weeks notice, to exploring every single option available to try and find a same-sex cake topper on Hawaii at the very last minute. When my mother wanted to be a sleuth to try and figure out our hotels, etc so she could do something, I put her in touch with Cheryl thinking she'd help her arrange dinner or a spa day at our hotel. Little did I know that Cheryl was talking to my mother and my mother-in-law almost daily, accommodating their requests and in the end keeping the big secret that our mothers paid for the entire day, photographer and wedding dinner. But even more special, Cheryl worked closely with them to give them the opportunity to put their small touches on our ceremony. Cheryl revealed the surprise after the ceremony and I can't tell you how special that was for us. Cheryl made it possible for our mothers to be part of our elopement and I can't thank her enough. Incidentally, my mother shared with me the pages and pages (.....and pages!) of emails she and my MIL exchanged with Cheryl. Even from 5,000 miles away, Cheryl's warmth and kindness touched our mothers and they will be forever friends. Our ceremony was intimate and and so well done. Her service was spot on for us as a couple, and Cheryl cried the whole time which made it feel like we were married by an old friend. Cheryl is everything you want for your Hawai'i elopement. She will forever hold an incredibly special place in our hearts and I couldn't ask for a kinder soul to remember as part of our day. Cheryl exudes love, fun and the spirit of aloha, and any couple who has her at the helm for their wedding is extremely blessed.

Normally when I write a review on Yelp, I already know what I want to say before I start typing…read more This is not one of those times because I have a hard time putting into words how much meaning Aloha Weddings in Paradise added to our wedding day. I found Cheryl through an exhaustive Google search as I was looking for the right wedding officiant for my husband's and my elopement to the Island of Hawaii in December, 2013. Once I found Aloha Weddings' website - and saw smiley photos of Cheryl, her husband, Pas, and their rescued animals - I knew right away she was the right one for us. Anyone that rescues as many animals as they have has the same kind of heart I do! I contacted Cheryl to book her officiating services for our wedding and she was very quick to respond. Throughout the following months, whenever I needed to get in touch, had a new idea or wanted to ask Cheryl a question, she was always right there and ready with an answer. Her communication about our upcoming wedding day was awesome, but she also took the time to get to genuinely know my husband and I via email before we made our way to Hawaii for our wedding ceremony. Cheryl offers a variety of wedding packages of all sizes, including a la carte services like flowers, a cake, music, photography and even leis. She allows you to plan as much or as little of your day as you'd like and she can handle the rest. I'm a planner by nature, so I took the reins most of the time but it was nice to know I could count on Cheryl for all the other small details. The day before our wedding day, Cheryl came into Kona to meet with us, talk about how the day's events will unfold, what our last-minute preferences were and to answer any questions we had. She put us entirely at ease and we couldn't wait for the big day! We also ended up asking Cheryl to provide our flower leis and my husband's maille lei, as well as hiring Cheryl's husband to play the ukulele before and after our elopement ceremony. On our wedding day, both Cheryl and Pas were on time, prepared and ready to rock! The warmth, kindness and sincerity that they brought to our wedding day - and our marriage ceremony in particular - are qualities my husband and I will never forget. Cheryl added a lot of special and unique touches to the ceremony, and the vows she created for us were deeply heartfelt. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cheryl and Pas to anyone even considering getting married on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Uncle Ledward Ka'apana was scheduled to play for my wedding and I needed specific equipment with someone who possessed the knowledge and expertise to operate the equipment for the renowned, legendary, and almost god-like (In my eyes) Hawaiian Slack Key Master. Brian was the man! I shared the request with him and he said that he could do it and that he would be at my wedding. On my wedding day, Brian showed up a few hours early to prepare his equipment and he was ready for the main event. Aunty Sharon (Uncle Ledwards wife and manager) sat next to Brian while her husband played Hawaiian Slackey melodies that filled the room with Aloha. Professional Sound Systems Hawaii helped to deliver that Aloha into the hearts and minds for everyone at my wedding! Mahalo Brian for helping me to create a wonderful experience for my guest, and I am so thankful for you Aloha, professionalism, and expertise with providing and operating the perfect sound system!

Our DJs manager sucked and couldn't find equipment on the island and didn't tell us until the week before our wedding. So I started researching and messaging companies once we found out. When I reached out to Brian he replied so fast!! Honestly a blessing in disguise because Brian offered his knowledge on what type of equipment we would need and charged us a great rate for such a last minute booking. We got speakers, lights, wireless mics, mackie prof, and breakdown. He came bright and early to set up on our wedding day. Super thankful for Brian and definitely recommend booking him!
