I think this location of my new university is one of the most beautiful of the UVA's locations. At…read morethis place you can find the law involved studies. I love how this place is hidden away and you have to go through the little tunnel with the book market to get there. The courtyard is so lovely, especially in summer with the roses growing. Tourists often take pictures here as well because it such a photogenic place. Inside there are many classrooms but not that much other facilities. There is no restaurant but the Atrium is at 2 min walking distance because it is located in the building next to this one (so it's almost like it is the same building). Inside Oudemanhuis there is a coffee corner where you can get coffee, tea and other drinks. There are sandwiches and a few pastries as well so I'm glad I can still get my coffee and maybe a snack in between classes.

The passage from the canal to the university dates back to 1601. When this building was used as an home for elderly men. That's why it's called Oudemanhuispoort. In the passage there is a little bookmarket and also a great route for tourists who want to go to Waterlooplein. The building itself gives you a flasback in time as the inside is completely modern. When you're in the building it takes you away from the busy city of Amsterdam. Which is good if you want to study ;). This is mainly the law faculty, social involved studies and philosophy are also held here. I have been to other buildings of the UVA but this will always be my favorite. Am a bit biast ofcourse.

I've taken 2 classes here and both times the teachers have been pretty good. Lunch is also provided for "free" and you get vouchers to go to La Place in the shopping center right next to where classes are held. If you take a virtual training (one of mine were) it is not so bad but the connection is not the greatest and goes in and out a few times per day. The coffee provided comes from typical machine that mixes coffee powder with hot water so not the greatest but is is nice that is free.
