After looking at woodwind stores closer to me and online, none of the other stores had the 4 pack I was looking for. Q&F not only had the 4-pack, but it was less than Amazon (and the other shops) sell the 3-pack version for. I wasn't going to spend $10 on shipping so I opted for store pickup and figured I'd drive out there when I had other errands to run in the area. They sent me a text letting me know they were getting it from their warehouse and then about 4-5 business days laters I got a call that it was ready for pickup. Super easy.

I've been a customer of Quinlan and Fabish going on seven years with two kids in their violin…read morerental program. It has been a such a gift. Our first child started violin through the school and Quinlan and Fabish were there at the welcome night. We decided to go with them and we rented our child's violin through them for years. What's great about their program is that they keep track of how much you are putting towards the instrument rental and then, if your child gets serious down the road, that money is banked as a credit towards buying an instrument. After several years it felt like a good idea to invest in an instrument for our older child. There was a Black Friday sale and we could use our credit so it seemed like a great move. I bought the instrument but I was able to pay for it on a monthly basis, just like the rental, however, I owned it. But they would also help out with any repair or support we would need if there was a problem. It felt great when the violin was paid for! It felt like an accomplishment to pay it off and an investment into the music education of our kid. When the second child wanted to play violin too, it again made sense to choose Quinlan and Fabish. It remains to be seen if our second kid will continue in orchestra, but what's great about the rental program is that we haven't made a large purchase of an instrument. The rental is convenient for us. Additionally, our second kid broke his violin twice. He has needed to replace it twice. Um, embarrassing much? Quinlan and Fabish happily took the broken rental violin and replaced it, no big deal. What a relief! Highly recommend Quinlan and Fabish! Also, you can buy things from them (stands, shoulder rests, etc) over the phone and they will drop them off at your child's school. Super helpful for busy families.

Our account kept getting disconnected from autopay, so we had to call in every month to make a payment. And every time you call, you end up explaining the same thing over and over again. I went in today to return my child's instrument because we're moving, and even after explaining that, I was asked multiple times if we wanted to keep it. The pushiness was unnecessary, especially coming from the store manager. I don't care if they have locations nationwide -- we're moving and I just wanted to end the contract, but it felt like they were trying hard to keep the sale. I can recommend them for pricing, but that's about it. Expect billing issues, long wait times, and a lot of hassle. Also, at the start of the school year, they run out of instruments fast, so inventory is another issue.

The staff is so helpful and friendly. I know little about musical instruments but they put us in a good position to have our kids excel! We have only had wonderful teachers amd flexibility with lesson times has been great. One cool thing is the lesson rooms have cameras, so you can sit in a little lounge area and watch as the screen rotates through the rooms. And of course you can hear them play from the lounge too!

We had a very bad experience with Craig Elliott at A&A Music Academy in Hanover Park, IL. After…read moreteaching my child the Ukelele for two months, Mr. Elliott, the music instructor, decided that teaching this instrument to young children was outside of his expertise as a music teacher and thus canceled the rest of our classes for the month, which by the way, had been paid in advance. In addition, there was an incident where he grabbed and yanked my six year old child to try to keep the child from standing up from the child's chair (this we learned later!). The list of incidents goes on. To top things off, during the last class that Craig taught my child, Craig seemed to be be sick and coughing with a cold. As a result. my child contracted RSV after this last lesson with Mr. Ellilott. These are just a few examples of our experience with Craig's lack of professional acumen as a music teacher. First, children should not be grabbed or yanked under any circumstances. Second, it is very unprofessional to not have completed his commitment of teaching after having been paid for the classes in advance. Thirdly, one should not have close contact with anyone while sick! At the very least, Mr. Elliott could have informed us and/or wore a mask to prevent spread of disease. Unfortunately, sharing our story here will not keep you all from experiencing the same at this school with Mr. Elliott. However, if we can save one person from experiencing abuse in the way of poor professionalism that we have experienced, then sharing our bad experience with Mr. Craig Elliott is worthwhile.
