Let me start by saying, I ended up no contracting them for my pool. I also decided not to contract…read morehim for my pool service. I took the time to talk to two people who had pools built by Clear Pools. I got the same response from both. The pool wasn't done on time, his workers were not professionals, no tutorial as to how to use the pool. Pool looks great when finish but issues start "popping up" within a year. As for the pool service, the persons shows up for 5 minutes and leaves. Seems like he is always in a hurry. Clear pools quoted me the cheapest price for a pool. I decided to give it a shot a listen to his spill. Mr. Peña becomes agitated when you ask to many questions and don't agree with him. I was afraid he would even become violent. That was enough for me. If this is the treatment now, I don't want to imagine later. I ended up with a different company. I paid a little more but I had a peace of mind. Pool came out great!

First let me start with the positive. The initial response was quick and they listened to what I…read morewanted and how I wanted it. The end product was 98% how I envisioned it and I love my pool. It's beautiful. But...that's as far as I can go. My lack of satisfaction lies in what has happened in the last year. It took over 6 months from start to finish for my pool to be built. Since I am not experienced with building a pool I don't really know if that is reasonable but let me say, it's not an Olympic sized pool. There did not appear to be much supervision of the employees doing the daily work and they had to be asked to clean up after themselves. They would eat on site and leave their lunch trash behind, use our personal property (such as my hose) and not return it to it's original position. There were a few hiccups with the tile that were corrected after I pointed it out. After the pool was finally filled there was not great communication as to when the salt cell could be activated or when the salt could be added to the pool. When I asked I was first told 2 weeks, then three weeks, then told a month. By then it was over 4 weeks since the water had been added and I was irritated. In response they came out and dumped 10 full bags of salt in the pool. When I asked about how I would know if the water was properly balanced I was told to take a sample to Leslie Pools and they would tell me what needed to be done. I did..and I was promptly told the salt was WAY too high for the size of my pool and it needed to be corrected. When I brought this up to Clear Pools I was told it would "dissipate on it's own" and not to be concerned. When I went back to Leslie Pools they disagreed with that advise and told me I needed to add fresh water. At this point I asked around for recommendations for a good pool cleaner/maintainer to hire and was recommended Pools by JT. Can't recommend them ENOUGH. After he ran a full set of tests on my water he agreed with Leslie pools that I needed to dump about half the capacity of the pool and add fresh water....which I did. I could go on and on from here but this is a brief list of other issues I have had: - pipes were installed backwards on my pump system causing dirt, debris and DE to clog the $100.00+ filter set that I had to replace with no offer of compensation. - pipes on the pump and filter system were leaking from the beginning. - The plumbing to the spa was not right so the spa would drain when the pump system was turned off. - The plumber that ran the gas to the heater was not instructed to put on a solid state pipe or break away valve which could have resulted in my warranty being made invalid (this came directly from the warranty company that came to see why my heater was locking up). I had to pay the plumber AGAIN to come out and correct it when it should have been done right the first time. - With less than a year of use the timer on the system stopped working requiring me to manually turn the pump system on and off. It was assumed that it was just a bad toggle switch but when that fix didn't work the answer was to install a second new set of toggle switches...great but if the clock isn't turning, it's not going to hit those switches. - The pool heater was still locking out (this was never resolved) so It was brought up again at the same time as the timer. Once again the answer was to send out the warranty company. This time they looked at it further (since I had fixed the gas lines) and I was informed that the heater was not properly wired to the timer so when the pump shut off the heater was hard locking out because there was no longer any water flowing through the system. When I informed Clear Pools....radio silence. Once again I am having to fix something that wasn't done right in the first place. Sadly I get so many compliments on my pool from friends and neighbors and more than a few who have been thinking of building one of their own were inspired by the possibilities of a nice pool in a small place. Unfortunately when I tell them of my post build issues they don't ask for for any additional details on my builder. I've tried to get the company to at least meet me half way and compensate me for additional expenses...heck even apologize for the troubles...but instead I'm told they are "seeking professional counseling" about the matter. Professional counseling probably isn't a bad choice. I've put off leaving a review because I don't like to be negative, but I don't want anyone to go into a decision without having read the "other" side of the story. Maybe I was just unlucky and hit the company at the wrong time of year...I don't know. I do know I wish I had read a review like this before I made my choice of contractors.
