I found an insurance agency in Napa called Compass of California. They took their time and went through my vehicles and then our home. After talking to Her, we found out that our home was under insured. Thank goodness we hadn't had a huge claim and lost our home. We would have had some serious problems getting paid. Now every year, we go over the coverages and make sure that if we lose our home to the wildfires , we will be able to build it back. We live in Sonoma County which is the wildfire capital of California these days. We've been evacuated almost every year since 2017. Our homeowners went up this past year due to the wildfires. I had number of calls with Compass and they got a cheaper quote but they recommended I stay with my current insurer because they felt like the cheaper company may be dropping Northern California because of the fires, in a year or maybe two. Zach Barlow my Allstate agent from Bryce Stephen's Allstate Office contacts me a month later asking for my car registration while I'm on vacation in another state. I immediately send him the registration for the car with me. He discontinues the coverage for my other car not with me on July 8. I'm in a different state on vacation without access to my glove box with my paperwork. I thought that was a little weird. July 23 2019, 48 days after I signed up for the policy I get something in the mail stating my policy was going from $240 to about $858 a month. I contacted Zach Barlow and asked what the deal was. He said I could stop the policy and not pay anything if I signed up with a different carrier. I switched over to Geico and my Allstate insurance was discontinued. I was sent a bill for $914.46 from Allstate saying I still owed them money. After talking to Mathew the Allstate resolution specialist I was told I couldn't get out of paying the $914.46. I felt mislead and lied to by Zach Barlow from Bryce Stephen's Allstate Office. Nothing against Allstate but I just wish they didn't have agents who would mislead you on quotes only to have you locked up in rates later.
