I am very pleased with the handling of my disability case I received from Crowe & Shanahan…read more Although my doctor said he was 100% for me to receive benefits, he provided very contradictory information about my medical condition to the SSA. This was causing a continued denial of benefits to me, of which it was clear from the start I was deserving. I was getting frantic! However, my attorney, Mr Don Derse and his team dug into the medical records my doctor had been sending and discovered that in some places my medical records indicated I was nearly an "Olympic athlete," while in other places my real disability and limitations were spelled out. Mr Derse came prepared and was able to specifically point out these discrepancies to the Administrative judge at my hearing, resulting in a favorable ruling. My sincere thanks to Mr Derse and his team at Crowe & Shanahan! Were it not for them, who knows? I could be living on the streets right now, unable to obtain the proper medical treatment of which I am in need. I highly recommend Crowe & Shanahan to anyone in need of counsel for a disability claim, and I will remain eternally grateful to Mr Derse and this law firm.

The meeting was both required to do my role as president and in the best interest of the community as it allowed everyone to share thier perspectives that were shared privately with me. I am sharing this review based solely on my personal experience with this firm during an inquiry…read moreregarding a potential employment-related legal matter. My experience was disappointing, particularly with respect to communication, transparency, and the amount of time involved in the intake and review process. I provided the requested information and documentation, including a completed intake form and supporting correspondence. There were also multiple communications regarding scheduling a discussion and providing additional information. What was particularly frustrating was the amount of time spent communicating with the firm without ultimately receiving a clear, substantive explanation regarding the specific basis for declining to handle the matter. I fully understand that a law firm has the discretion to decline a potential case and that not every matter will meet a firm's criteria for representation. My concern is not simply that the case was declined; it is the lack of clarity and transparency surrounding the process and the apparent time invested before the matter was ultimately rejected. For prospective clients, I believe clear communication about the status of an inquiry, the anticipated timeline, and the general reason a firm is unable to proceed is important. Clients should not be left with the impression that their matter is being actively evaluated over an extended period without receiving meaningful clarification about where the process stands. Based on my experience, I would not personally choose this firm for future legal representation, and I would be hesitant to recommend it to members of my community seeking assistance with an employment-related matter. I am posting this review to accurately describe my experience so that prospective clients can make their own informed decisions.
