granite homes built my home 4.5 yrs ago under the ashton ridge umbrella, in January I discovered…read moreice and snow behind insulation. home inspection confirmed moisture penetration into home and very high level of 9 types of mold. under further inspection we found that our home does not have the minimum 1 inch air space required by the ontario building code. and that the house wrap was not sealed in the corners allowing water to enter the basement. we also have 2 cold air returns on 2nd floor that have 0 air flow also contributing to the lack of air circulation and increase in mold. we now live in a contaminated home that we can not sell until all deficiencies are fixed..Approx 50-60K...and builder takes no responsibility. follow up inspection by the city of Guelph building department i was told that my house was " close enough" to Ontario building code.
