I can always text them for a quick and easy communication rather than calling and playing phone tag. After every session I get an e-mail with notes from her instructor sharing what they covered in the lesson and how it went with a list of things she did well and things she can continue to practice. Also, the sessions are easy to use and set up, it's just a link to click in an e-mail instead of downloading or installing Zoom or any other platform on the device. If I want them to cover any specific homework assignment, workbook, skill or even state testing practice they incorporate that into the session for us. I would highly recommend them!

I called their customer service line hoping to get some guidance and schedule sessions quickly, given the time pressure I was under. I explained my situation clearly, that I had a major exam approaching and really needed to get matched with a qualified tutor right away. Instead of offering any help, the young man on the other end of the line simply responded with "cool beans" and then hung up the phone. No follow-up questions, no attempt to assist me, nothing. Just "cool beans" and a dial tone. I was completely stunned. I'm a paying customer reaching out during a stressful time, and that's the level of professionalism I get? It felt dismissive and disrespectful. I'm out here trying to invest in my education, and your representative couldn't even be bothered to stay on the line for 30 seconds. If this is the quality of support Varsity Tutors provides, I can only imagine what the actual tutoring experience would be like. My son used to love school and love math. He excelled in it until he got a teacher who completely destroyed his self confidence which resulted in him developing a fear and unworthiness. It was awful. He started having a real emotional and physical reaction when it came time to do math and math homework so he just gave up. Instead of his teacher helping him, she reprimanded him which only made it worse. I found Mathnasium wth the hope they would find a way to connect with my child and give him the confidence he needed to shine again. I expected it to take some time but literally after the first session, his little spark was reignited into a flame that has been glowing ever since. She helped my son prep for the HSPT entrance exam for Notre Dame after he took their week-long test prep workshop and practice test and his score needed to greatly improve. Shushan worked with him once a week for a few months leading up to the test and his score went up 130 points and his markers went from half being in the 'below average' range & half in the 'average' range to ALL ABOVE AVERAGE on the actual test! He was accepted into Notre Dame and we couldn't be happier. Shushan also helped him with general study habits for tests and gave him tools that he can apply for years to come.
