She couldn't care less about us, never checked on us, delivered the check without a word. The food: we both ordered wiener schnitzel, since it was our last day in Germany on this trip. This was amazing! The schnitzel was delivered in the typical Austrian way. Cooked in clarified butter, served with lemon and lingonberry preserves, simply delicious. The pommes frites were meh, very dry and lacking that typical European taste from being cooked in beef tallow. My guess is they weren't. The dish is also offered with kartofflesalat (potato salad), so maybe go for that instead. Bottom line: very cool interior, they have a micro brewery to boot, and the schnitzel was very tasty. Would recommend overall, just avoid if possible, the blonde kelnerin (waitress) she seems like she'd rather be doing anything else than serving.

I feel sorry for that reviewer and group that seems to have stumbled upon a gem and mistaken it for a rock. So make a reservation, save your money, and ask for the 8-course meal because THAT is why this restaurant exists; to create exquisite, palatial, mouth-scapes. AKA don't sabotage your experience by ordering a'la carte and assuming this is just a place to eat because you are hungry. Also, plan on at least 3 hours and wear stretchy pants :) I believe there are 2 cooks. FYI the chef and female waiter are married and that makes for great stories and jokes. The younger male waiter was meticulous (carefully laying out every dish and angling the plate for the best view). This is a Paris-level kitchen hiding out in Garmische. Be polite and know basic German etiquette, I fail sometimes even though I know proper etiquette I do not know some of the German proper etiquette. Plus it did not help that my friend got sick during our visit to the restaurant. Not because of the restaurant but the whole night was awkward.
