Since I like plants and gardening a lot, when I saw the information of "Grüne Woche" online, I decided to pay a visit at once. Well, couldn't really find a time till weekend, so I already prepared myself for the crowds there. Beside that never bother me anyway.
I saw many people line up for tickets when I was around the entrance. I am not sure the reason. Usually, the fair in Messe Berlin always offered online service. They offered many different kind of tickets for people to choose. I got myself ticket online, didn't spent much time already inside the fair.
Like I mentioned before, it was lot of people here, but just like most of the exhibitions I have been. For me, it was quite normal. And it kinda made me happy that more and more people actually care the plans and what they eat. The fair itself is most about food, it turned to be more commercial than I expected. Beside the food stand from different counties, the other biggest thing was the plants. From flowers, plant to green houses, sort of hard wares. All could be found here. For me there was serval highlights in this area, what I like the most was the huge manmade garden inside. It took me second to realized all the plants there were real. It was really beautiful and cool, there were many different plant and flowers there. The tulips garden was my second favorite of the whole fair. I also like those little bio farms. I also tried so fruits and drinks here, wow, it tasted really good. I asked the fruit actually could be already found in the market. So next time I go to supermarket will definitely check them out.
Beside these two, part of the fair about animals, which was another highlight for me. There was lots of different cows, goats, pigs, sheep and horses. Also some special animal alpacas, deers and other pet animals. Honesty, there was a moment I completely lost track of time, just enjoyed my time there very much. I tried some milk products, tasted really great. The only thing was disturbing for me, they set a food stand right next to this animal area. It's kinda a horrible way to show how the animal will end up when the other people still petting some. Well, well, well, excused my dark humor. The horsecar race was quite cool. In the pet area got quite few very interesting thing. I think it is quite cool place for the people who has or want to have pets. You could asked advices and see if there were any kind of communities around.
At the back, there was a area for vegetarians, not so big though. It was ok, mainly just food stands and some products. Didn't see anything really special.
At the end of the day, I was really surprised, spent about 5 hours in this fair. I started at noon, finished at the evening. Most of fair turned to be much better than I expected. I had quite a good time. Thing is, at some moments I did feel like I don't know what the main theme of this fair about. For me, I wish there could be more greens. The entrance ticket could be lower price, since visitors basically have to pay most of the food and drinks inside. Well, according my experience, it is kinda normal here though. I do like the "Grüne Woche", I would like to visit again, but probably not every years. read more
