We had been using the pediatric dentist covered by our insurance for our son's cleanings. They had been good enough- balloon animals and a brightly colored office. Unfortunately when he was 3 he had a cavity. The Dentist's treatment of my 3 year old during that procedure left me horrified, and him with a deep fear of the dentist. I vowed never to go back, regardless of insurance. Dr. Kaile's office was the first one I tried after that and I never had reason to look for another. Just taking him in for that first routine cleaning resulted in tears and terror. This office took hours working with him, coaxing him out of the fear. I know the time they took with him must have caused them to run behind, but they never lost their patience with him. We had a few consecutive visits to correct the improper procedure from the first dentist. They always placed my son with the same staff members so he would feel comfortable. The recommendations they gave for his care always centered around his comfort and the consideration of how it would affect him mentally and physically. The compassion and concern they showed for my son actually caused me to cry with tears of gratitude after one of our visits. And that is not something I would normally do in a Doctor's office! I am happy to say that my son is 6 1/2 and is now excited when I tell him he has an upcoming visit! Three years ago I never would have though that could happen. I can't thank Dr. Kailes, Katie and the rest of the staff enough for their fantastic care of my child, their professionalism and the smiling faces I get to see when we visit. My three year old had her first dentist visit this week with Dr. Kailes. My daughter was prepared for the visit beforehand by watching Dr. Kailes on youtube- office tour, visit overview, etc. She was excited to go! The office did not disappoint. My daughter was excited to play in the lobby while the receptionist made me feel right at home. They even went out of their way to look up additional insurance information for me and cleared up a lot of confusion. Once it was my daughter's turn (5 minute wait or less!) she was cheerfully greeted and made comfortable. They did a great job of explaining EVERYTHING to her- they showed her each tool, every procedure, talked about her interests, got her a blanket... and my daughter really enjoyed watching Disney Jr. on the roof! :) Dr. Kailes is warm and compassionate and fun. My daughter received an entry into the No Cavity Club to be entered for a prize! She also received a goodie bag and a token to pick out a prize, and a sticker. After her very thorough (but quick) visit, they gave us a complete tour of the office. I was impressed by the tooth brushing station- if I ever feel like stopping by to brush my daughter's teeth, say, after a lunch out, they have individually wrapped brushes with toothpaste on them, stepstools, the whole shebang. Talk about awesome! We had an amazing experience and my daughter keeps asking when we get to go back. If my dentist was like Dr. Kailes, I would look forward to going to the dentist too! read more

My kids have been patients of Dr. Kailes since they were little. Dr. Kailes and her staff are amazing. We've never had a bad experience with anyone there. Everyone is friendly and professional. My oldest child was so shy at her first visit, and Dr. Kailes was extremely patient, sweet, and understanding. She made it seem like they were playing a game to count her teeth. I especially like that I'm allowed to go back with my kids. I can watch what the hygienists and Dr. Kailes are doing and ask any questions right then and there. I have never felt rushed during any part of our visit and all of my questions have been answered. The atmosphere is fun and warm. They have games, toys and a big TV to keep the kids occupied while we wait. I love the paintings on the walls. The kids look forward to getting the token for the toy machine in the lobby. As far as price is concerned, we don't have dental insurance but the price seems to be consistent with other area dentists. I've recommended Dr. Kailes to all my family and friends with young children. We are so happy to have her as our kids' dentist. read more

We love Dr. Kailes and her staff. They're always patient, kind and understanding. I have never felt rushed, and I have always been allowed to go back with my kids for all procedures. The office environment is fun and inviting with bright colors and really pretty murals painted on the walls. They have toys and video games for the kids to play while waiting to go back. We don't have insurance at the moment and their prices seem pretty comparable to others around. I have never felt like I was forced to have a procedure done if I didn't feel it was necessary. I totally believe that Dr. Kailes has my children's best interest at heart. My kids have been patients here since they were little. At their first appointment, my oldest child was pretty scared to even let Dr. Kailes look at her teeth. But, Dr. Kailes was so sweet and took her time with us. Now my kids jump up and really can't wait to go to the dentist again. I'm sure it helps that there is a cool treasure tower at the end of the appointment. My family has been patients of Dr Kailes for over 6 years now. I have 4 children and they love to go to see Dr. Kailes. Before we found Dr Kailes it was always a nightmare to visit the dentist. I was always careful to make sure that the dentist we chose were in the insurance's network. Even with them in the network I was always having to come up with hundreds of dollars and I never understood why. It has been a blessing to us to know Dr Kailes and her staff. Some of the staff have moved on and I miss them a lot. They are always friendly and make you feel like you are part of the family. I was just there again with 2 of my children. It is always a friendly welcoming place. My youngest daughter wants to be a dentist because of Dr Kailes. My oldest son who is now 20 always loves it when Dr Kailes comes into his place of work. He rushes to take care of her. We are a military family and I refer her to all of my military friends. I have had my friends come and thank me for sending them to Dr Kailes. We are so pleased to have Dr. Kailes as our family Pediatric Dentist. Our 3 boys who are 11, 8 and 3 can't wait to visit her office for their dental check ups each 6 months and see who has made it into the No Cavity Club! I am impressed with how the dental staff and assistants handle each child. My 8 year old is ADD and has some processing learning disabilities. I have been pleased with how Dr. Kailes' assistants have treated my son with the up-most care and compassion to his sensitivities. The girls take their time with Luke, no matter how busy the office seems, to really make it a comfortable visit for him. Our previous dental office seemed more frustrated with my son and just wanted to move on to the next child making visiting the dentist, in the past, a negative experience for him. The office environment suites children of all ages. In our experience the office staff has always been welcoming and nurturing. The only complaint that I have for this Practice is the distance that we choose to drive to see Dr. Kailes from St. Augustine. read more

As a physician I have high expectations of all health professionals, particularly those who are treating my children. I was nothing but impressed with Dr. Kailes and her staff from start to finish. My four year old daughter has a condition which will ultimately require oral surgery when she is older (quite concerning to me as she has never before had any medical problems and has never even taken any prescription medications). We traveled over an hour to see a pediatric specialist and were assisted with every step of the process including explicit directions and gentle reminders of our appointment time and date. Dr. Kailes and her staff were extremely kind to my daughter, explaining every step of what was being done in terms she could understand. The care and attention shown to my child was on par with the way these folks would have cared for their own children. Dr. Kailes was thorough, patient, and compassionate. I had to take my three young children in today. Not only had the staff been thorough with getting our insurance authorization prior to our visit, but they also made sure to let us know that we would be visiting on Wacky Wednesday where they would be dressing up (Star Wars was the theme today). I received a text, email, and phone call confirming the appointments which was fine with me! The visit went really well. They spoke kindly to my children and had the upmost patience with them. The office had plenty to keep them occupied as well. I read a previous review that mentioned some kind of scare/intimidation tactic--but that was not our experience AT ALL! the staff were sweet and more patient than I could ever be! This was the first visit to the dentist for my four year old twins, and my seven year old's first visit at this particular dentist. What a relief to have found such a great office! read more

Dr. Kailes and her staff are wonderful with children of all ages. My nine year old loves going to the office and loves the fact that the staff as well as Dr. Kailes talk directly with her not just with me (parent). My two year old recently had her first appointment and I was very nervous on how she would do but the appointment was wonderful, the hygienist explained everything prior to doing it and continued to give her praise throughout the appointment. On another note as a parent the cost is also very important. Dr. Kailes office staff is wonderful at estimating all of the cost prior to having any work done so that you don't get shocked when you get to the checkout. Selecting Dr. Kailes for our children's pediatric dentist is the best decision we've ever made! Her ability to connect with children and make them feel comfortable is such a gift! She recognizes that the dentist can sometimes be scary for children and her entire staff does everything possible to make them comfortable. must share my experience with our last visit at Dr. Kailes' office. My son had an appointment to fix a cavity. As we arrived at the office we learned that a dental emergency had come in and the schedule was just a little delayed. Even though no one has control over emergency situations Dr. Kailes and her staff showed such respect for the importance of our time as well. I can not express to you how impressed I was that the office was so concerned that my time was just as important as anyone else's and they did everything possible to get back on schedule even though I understood and didn't mind waiting. I was apprehensive, bringing my 20-month-old in for his first visit. He doesn't last 5 minutes at the grocery store, and no one is sticking their fingers in his mouth there. But, it was a wonderful experience. The staff was quick and friendly. They made sure my son was happy and entertained throughout the entire process. A friend referred me to Dr. Kailes when my daughter developed a fear of her Dentist. We have been going to Dr. Kailes ever since- about 10 years. She is hands down the best pediatric Dentist in Jacksonville. She is gentle with the children and explains everything to them in terms they can understand. Dr. Kailes' dentist office is the absolute best dentist I've ever found. She takes the time to get to know each patient and what their particular needs are, so she can cater to their individual personalities. It's the only dentist that my son has ever gone to that he actually enjoys and isn't petrified. He loves Dr. Kailes and dreads the day that he can no longer go to her pediatric office. I absolutely LOVE Dr. kailes and her entire team. Everyone is very pleasant. Today my just turned 4 year old daughter had to have filling. Everything was explained to her in a way that she could understand and in a non scary way. I have never left there feeling like my children (3) have been mistreated or disrespected in any way. I sent my niece to Dr. Kailes and it was her that discovered my niece does not respond to pain meds (to numb) like other children. She is very patient and thorough. Dr Kailes office is the best Dentist office I have ever been to. Dr Kailes and her ladies were amazing to both of my children one who is 5 who has never been to the dentist, that now wants to go back tomorrow, and the other who is 13 who hasn't been to the dentist in the past 4 years do to a very bad past dentist experience, both now love the dentist.
