Highly recommend. Great employees and good vibes. It's hard to trust a lot of centers.

Spotlight Sitters

In Fall 2025, I decided to transition to in-home childcare because, to say the least, the daycare I…read morewas using was awful. My child would come home distressed, and my motherly instincts immediately told me something wasn't right. I started researching other options and came across Spotlight Sitters. From the very first phone call, I could tell this company was different. They carefully walked me through every step of the process, answered all of my questions, and truly listened to my concerns. From there, they began searching for the right sitter for my family. What stood out most to me was the amount of time, care, and thoroughness they put into finding the perfect match. I had previously tried Care.com, but after our daycare experience, I just didn't feel comfortable having a random person come into my home. I wanted someone who would genuinely love and care for my child, not someone who would simply sit and watch TV all day. After about 2-3 weeks, we met our sitter over Zoom, and she was hands down one of the kindest people I've ever met. When we met in person to see if it was the right fit, she immediately connected with my daughter by playing with her and making her feel comfortable. She also shared her background and experience, which gave me even more confidence. As a working mom with a young child, mornings were always stressful. Between getting ready for work even remotely and trying to cook breakfast, I constantly felt rushed and overwhelmed. Our sitter now comes around 6-7 AM, makes my daughter breakfast, plays with her, and is incredibly sweet, patient, and caring. Nina and the entire Spotlight Sitters team consistently make sure we feel comfortable and supported. After the very first day, seeing the bond between my daughter and her sitter made me so happy and reassured me that I made the right decision. Since then, our experience has been wonderful. I could honestly write an entire essay about this company, but more than anything, I'm just grateful that there's a company out there that doesn't simply place a sitter and disappear. They continuously check in, make sure everyone is comfortable, and genuinely care about both the families and the babysitters they work with. Keep doing what you're doing, Spotlight Sitters. There are so many parents who truly need this kind of support and care.

The teachers and staff are all wonderful -- they show how much they care about and enjoy working with kids every day. I also appreciate that the school communicates so well with parents and builds a strong community with activities, such as book club, that bring in parents to connect with each other and engage with teachers on a regular basis.

I would not recommend entrusting your precious little one to the Hummelstown, PA facility. They are…read morecrooks and take pride in scamming people out of their money and calling it a registration fee. My husband and I went into their Hummelstown PA franchise in March. We were given a tour and informed of the many advantages to sending our 3 year old daughter to their school. After careful consideration, we spoke with the in-house owners about our specific needs. We were looking for part time care, four days out of the week consisting of Tuesday-Friday. The owners were very pleasant in letting us know that they did not have anything avaliable right away because this particular classroom had reached capacity. However, they'd expected to have something avaliable by the end of Summer, early Fall, but we were informed that we'd be contacted if they had anything sooner. My husband and i reluctantly agreed and submitted their required $150 registration fee and filled out the needed paperwork in order to place her on the waitlist. In April, I called in to see if anything had changed. Surly it hadn't. I proceeded to call once or twice a month to check for changes. Meanwhile, we had to find alternative childcare. We are now in Mid July. Today I received a phone call from one of the Goddard Hummelstown, Pa employees who notified us that they had a four day opening coming up but it was for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I reminded them that this would not work with our schedules as we were in need of Tuesday-Friday care. Since its been about 4-5 months with no upcoming openings for summer or Fall at this point and our daughter will soon be enrolled in kindergarten I asked if it would be possible to refund the $150 registration fee. The young lady we spoke too was unable to provide an answer so I was placed on a brief hold to speak with one of the owners. Cindy (one of the owners) was very rude, unprofessional, dismissive, did not listen to reason, and laughed when I asked if we were able to negotiate a refund. Cindy made it clear that the $150 registration fee was NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstance and that they would normally charge an additional upfront 2 weeks worth of childcare cost whether or not they have a position avaliable. I let Cindy know that this was not good buisness dismissing a potential consumer and that I would be writing a review on my experiences. Cindy stated "that's fine,"  I was so overwhelmed with misunderstanding and heartbreak as to how someone could be so pretentious. I would just like to inform my readers that before you submit any money or agree to any contract please make sure that you are covered. My husband and I are now out of $150 that could have been put to better use. Please reconsider before taking your little one to this facility. I would not trust leaving my little one in their care. If I were treated this way, I'd hate to see how they are treating children that are in their care.
