I moved to CA and my husband was in SC but was supposed to moveas well. Obviously life happened…read moreand excuse after excuse developed for him not to move. My husband requested a divorce and I later found out he had been having an affair for two years. Due to the distance and the affair I wanted a quick and easy solution. With no kids involved my husband and I agreed to an amicable divorce. The husband wanted to file the papers ourselves but I refused due to the chance of something going wrong and potentially finding out later I was still married. Being in CA complicated matters but after some research I found Brian! Brian was the upmost professional and was understanding and gracious. He was helpful at every turn and honest. This was supposed to be a quick divorce that only took 3-6 months but my husband would not get his part done quickly and the divorce took nearly a year. Brian was patient and understanding and continued to work with us. Brian is fabulous. He is quick to respond and answer questions. He is honest and forthcoming with his thoughts. His para-legal, Marla, is fantastic as well. She was quick to respond via email and text. During the week of the divorce there was a paper that needed to get done quickly and she talked me through the process and calmed me down during a very stressful time at work. You will not go wrong using Brian as your attorney! I feel lucky and blessed to have found him, you will be as well!

I am on disability and my financial situation dictated that I find someone willing to work with me on that front. My wife and I met with Brian and were impressed with him. He is very friendly with an easy manner. He has a way of taking tense and intimidating situations and deflating them, making those situations much more comfortable and easier to handle. He is great at helping you stay centered when everything around you seems to have gone haywire. For us, he was a steadying presence in the most chaotic and disruptive situation of our lives. My case was a very contentious and difficult one. Brian worked long and hard for me and always got back to me when I had concerns or questions. My wife and I were in a place where every new development felt like an emergency, so there were a lot of times when we would get a little more worked up than was appropriate, but Brian was very patient with us and helped move us from a panicked state to a much calmer place. One of Brian's strengths is his ability to make legal processes and documents understandable for the layman. Obviously, dealing with a legal situation can be very confusing, but I was always able to understand clearly what we were dealing with after Brian had explained things to me. Needless to say, it was very comforting to know that I wasn't going to be left in the dark and confused by legal terminology and procedure. Brian represented me very ably in the court room. He seemed very comfortable and confident in that environment, and did his best to minimize the amount of pressure I felt. I was particularly struck by the feeling that he was fighting hard to protect me and my interests. I feel like Brian is the kind of lawyer that will fight for his clients, because I saw him fighting for me. When the process was over, I ended up in a better place than where I started concerning my custody situation. I have more time with my son than I did before all of this, and I have Brian to thank for that. His hard work and dedication to my case yielded positive results, and believe me when I say that he went far beyond his responsibilities to help me. Considering my financial limitations, I did not think it would be possible to find anyone as capable and engaged as Brian was. He did what most lawyers would not. He put helping a client in need over immediate financial concerns. With all that said, I personally feel like Brian is genuinely a good person. My situation was a difficult and frustrating one, and because of my disability, I can be a difficult person to deal with. The fact that Brian stuck by me with care and understanding through what had to be a frustrating case for him is something I will always be grateful for. If you want a lawyer that will represent you capably and who will always do right by you, then I cannot recommend Brian Johnson enough.

***This review will be long because who you hire for a divorce (life altering experience) matters…read more We aren't ordering a cheeseburger here*** In the World of Divorce, you are experiencing something new. It could be your first or your fifth and the overwhelming will take precedence over the calm every time. It's an emotional time, leaving you off balance and logic just cannot override although we do try our best, it is still rough waters to sail. I tried to do this on my own at the start because my divorce was amicable however it's overwhelming trying to juggle day to day responsibilities then add in deadlines and filings and getting with the other spouse in a timely manner and really having unwanted communication which just adds to the emotional stages of grief and acceptance. It's too much for a soul to carry. That is why the best way I found to ride this out was with an Experienced Team who do this day in and day out. They were trained for this. They are in these waters daily. They know the path. I decided to just let the professionals handle it. Before deciding on the David W Martin law group, I had two other options. One was a referral from a great law group I had worked with on a previous matter, another was thru a discount program I have thru my job. I interviewed the lawyer (initial meet) with the one thru my job but I didn't feel I would work well with the guy. I think we were too similar in our communication style, I can sometimes be rough around the edges during trying times, so I knew he and I would bump heads LOL. Then I met Daniel at David W Martin, he was smooth and you could tell he had been doing this for a while. I liked his approach. Fast forward, I finally came up with the retainer but Daniel started practicing in a different sector of this law firm. So they introduced me to who would be the attorney I would work with. From the start she waived my initial fee because I had already spoken to Daniel. She didn't have to do that but she did even before ever speaking with her. So that showed People over Profit which is my standard in business. Breanna Compitello and Liz Aube made a great Team. Very close to seamless. We hit two hiccups during the process but it was remedied quickly. They had the stoicism and emotional regulation needed for the task but at the same time approachable and helpful. David W Martin Law Group showed me I mattered from the intake to the crossing of the finish line. The price tag was hefty for me but it was worth the price. I could focus on my job and they focused on theirs.
