Well I thought I was on my way to a resolution once the General Manager contacted me and then had another manager from Cedar Park Nissan (Tony) contact me. (See my original review from a few months ago)
Tony was great in getting the ball rolling. Unfortunately Tony assigned my situation to Cody and although at first things seemed good, they've since gone downhill again.
To try and make a long story short...I brought a used vehicle from Cedar Park Nissan. Although the car salesman, Robert, assured me that it was a good car and that they do a thorough inspection of each vehicle to make sure you're not getting a lemon, I haven't found that to be the case with my car. To be honest thinking back, I don't think they did much of a check at all for a few reasons but I won't go into them here. Besides, Robert started dodging my calls after promising to fix issued I found in my car.
I barely had my car 5 months when all sorts of lights started coming on including the check engine light and the car started acting funny.
After writing a Yelp review, the GM reached out to me. He got me in touch with Tony who got me in touch with Cody. After Cedar Park Nissan kept my car all day and concluded that they weren't exactly sure what was wrong with my car, Cody decided it would better serve me to take my car to Cedar Park Toyota for them to look at it and pinpoint the exact problem since my car is a Toyota and not a Nissan. CP Nissan didn't want to chance fixing it incorrectly. Sounds good right? Not so fast...
So after going to CP Toyota and them keeping my car 3 days while I tried to figure out how to get to and from to work, they determined the problem and "fixed" my car. I will give CP Nissan props for paying CP Toyota to fix my car even though it was the right thing to do anyway. I do think there should have been more follow up and communication and "what if" scenarios discussed with me from CP Nissan but that didn't happen.
Fast forward a couple of weeks after getting my car "fixed" the check engine light comes on again. I take my car back to Cedar Park Toyota and they say it's the same scan code coming up as the issue they fixed so it probably was just some cheap gas I put in my car, or the part they put in my car needed cleaning, or the fluctuating weather could have caused it. Um, ok. So then they sent me on my way. I may be wrong but common sense to me says that if the same scan code is coming on after you so called fixed the issue, then that wasn't the issue, and something else is wrong with the car. By the way I don't put cheap gas in my car.
Over the next couple of weeks the light proceeds to keep going on and off again. So after talking to Scotty at CP Nissan, who I've been dealing with the whole time, he tells me to bring the car back this morning, which I did. Meanwhile I'm being told things like oh it might be a leak, could be the gas cap, the change in temperature, blah blah blah. I mean at this point I've gotten so many dumb reasons on what it could be that I just didn't believe anything they were saying. It seemed like all speculation and that they have no clue what they are doing.
So later on today when I call to see what they may have found now they are telling me oh it's the fuel tank and that will be $800!! What?! I believe that's what was originally wrong with it but they didn't catch it and only caught the other issue. Or maybe what they fixed was never the issue. Who knows. They claim they checked the fuel pump the first time I brought the car in but I have no faith in what they say and of course they are going to say that.
So now I got this car that had a bunch of issues when I brought it. 3 different things had to be fixed when I originally took the car in the first time. True enough it was used but I never would have brought it had I not been assured how great a car it was and that they did an intense inspection and testing of the car to make sure it was good. Plus, how can I believe that when they didn't even have enough faith in their service department to fix the car themselves and sent me to CP Toyota to get it fixed? Now I have a car that could probably go out at any time and whose going to make it right now? CP Toyota is saying basically that they won't be responsible for their own work and is trying to pass the cost to me.
Yes the review is long but the background behind all this was a must. I'll be writing a review about Cedar Park Toyota as well.
