The work done to lift my concrete porch was performed very well and that work area was cleaned up very professionally. Unfortunately, the service truck used by the team has an oil or fuel leak problem. The team did put a catch bucket under one leak area but not below two other leak areas and as a result a number of greasy oily messes were made on my concrete driveway...I really didn't appreciate getting one concrete area fixed while another one was damaged! I cleaned up their mess with an oil absorbing product, so the area now looks OK, but hey, Matvey team, you really have got to step it up with non-leaking trucks or better under-truck protection of the customers driveways, etc. read more

I have a wonderful experience with Matvey Construction. After receiving the estimate, I became very busy and was not able to discuss with them further. They followed up with me, and I told them that I was busy and would need more time to review the estimate. They understood, and didn't push me. I really appreciate their patience. I finally reviewed and contacted them two months after I received the estimate. They not only honored me the original price, but also gave me some discount. They also worked with me to schedule a time that worked for me. During the work, the crew were very courteous. After years of settling of our garage, walkway and driveway slabs, it finally caused one of our garage doors to have an open gap at the top and a trip hazard between the driveway and walkway. Had a couple of companies come out and eventually went with Matvey. Communication was good throughout the process, estimator and technician were on time for their appointments. I went with Matvey for their warranty and the fact they did not charge more if the amount of foam to complete the job exceeded the estimate. Good thing too because the tech said he had to use a lot of foam to get the walkway level. Job looks great -- the holes drilled were not as noticeable as I thought they would be. I called and asked for a bid on a rather large project on Whidbey Island on 12/31 and was contracted and told I would get a bid. I had to send all the info to them 3 times because they kept saying they did not have or could not find it. First, I was contacted by Samantha Pier and she put Fernando on it and after several conversations and he saying he was going to come by, he did not. Then my contact was Jonathan Muir, who I had several talks with, resent him the info, was told I would get a bid several times and then NADA. Totally unprofessional to waste people's time and not follow up as you promise. My last email from him was he would have my bid to me that night and then nothing even when I emailed several more times. If you don't want the job, be a professional and say so. Stop doing TV ads asking for business if you don't want the business. read more

Be very careful! Our HOA hired Matvey to "lift" a bridge over our creek here in Gig Harbor, WA, that was showing signs of "sinking". We paid well over 10K to Matvey for a couple hours of work. Supposedly, the bridge has been "lifted" and is no longer is at risk, however, the bridge is no higher. There is a major BUMP that jars the entire vehicle when crossing the bridge. To resolve the issue, Matevey came back out and put in metal "ramps". This might have worked if the ramps were the correct length to make a difference, unfortunately, they are not. The short little metal ramps made no difference at all to the "BUMP" we all experience each and every time we pass over our bridge DISAPPOINTED....to say the least. read more

Matvey did work on a home we purchased and, when that work failed (i.e. the foundation continued to sink), we contacted them to get information on what work they had done so we could give it to the inspector. They refused to speak to me and refused to disclose anything about the work they had done despite the fact that I was, in no way, asking them to fix it -- I simply wanted the information for our new contractor. Had a porch that sunk about 3 inches, along with a concrete slab adjacent to the porch. Contacted Matvey for an estimate, received a phone call right away, and set up a date for the estimate. Received several emails reminding me that the date was coming up, it stated who was coming to perform the estimate, which was great. Roger Fallows texted me the day before the estimate date, arrived on time, was pleasant and provided an reasonable estimate for the job. He warned me that it would be three to four weeks out, but when he called the scheduler to find a date to do the job, an opening was available the very next day! I'm guessing that's not the norm, but it worked out for me. Received a phone message the next day about half an hour prior to the scheduled start time from Ahn (sorry, not sure about the spelling), saying he was running about 20 minutes behind. He arrived about the time he estimated, and we went over the job together to make sure he knew what was expected. He worked all by himself, said that his co-worker called in sick. He worked about six hours, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I'll update this post with some photos, but I wanted to post my review quickly. I received four quotes total, one being from Matvey. The other three foundation companies said, there is a pier that could use some repair but it's not worth it to just have one done and it would be best to wait and have the one pier taken care of when I have other work done (which is planned to happen next year). And that to fix the pier should cost no more than $1k, maybe half that if the contractor is doing other work. Matvey quoted me over $8k to lift/level half my house and put drains to keep the water away from my house. The quote didn't address the one pier. Gardner said he suggests going back to the basic and not try to fit previous work. I was floored by the $8k!!!! Aside from the quote and sticker shock. My appointment was at 9am, Gardner arrived on time and while he seemed very thorough the end results of high/low area were comparable to what other companies observed during their one to 1.5 hour visits. Matvey was at my house until almost 2pm! I was just going to just be a couple hours late to work.. then changed that to being in by noon... and ended up using a full day of vacation. I received my quote the next business day.. then later that day I received someone else's acceptance paperwork from Gardner to someone else in Matvey. I apparently was cc'd on the email by mistake. Gardner was working out the details on a commission he was splitting with another co-worker (10% commission). I realize people need to be paid but I can't help but wonder if quotes are padded more when reps are paid by commission. My advice to others is to get bids from other companies, than show it to Matvey if you have your heart set on using them. They will match or beat the price, as I saw on the above noted email mishap! read more

Had an inspector come out, twice due to delay (a few months between) for a 3 man (minimum) job, which should have required a backhoe. Work was estimated about the same (a few hundred difference, strange). Work scheduled for a month later. Deposit of 1/2 up front. Appt cancelled and moved to next day due to "workload". Ok. Called next day by project manager who said that he was not previously aware of the work, was alone, and couldn't get "the part". Had him come over and observe how this was not a single part install. Friday close, nothing back. Monday morning I leave a message about the uncertainty of the future and existing deposit. Make another call Tuesday morning, I get an email cancelling the job as out of scope and an issued refund. SMH read more

I had a very good experience with Matvey. They came out and repaired settling near my front steps and garage area which had caused cracking in my siding among other issues. During the repair process one of their machines malfunctioned and sprayed a solvent on my garage door. Their employee explained what happened, went to the hardware store, matched the paint, and repainted my garage door--and did a good job of it! I chose to have Matvey take a look at some cracks in my foundation because they had great reviews on Google. I was surprised to find that Yelp reviews had negative experiences because mine was great. Making an appointment was super easy and they scheduled me the upcoming week for a free inspection. Within 3 days, we got a welcome packet in the mail with a really high-quality​ information​ book that explained the different types of foundation problems and different methods of repairing it. My first thought was that they were going to be really expensive since they are able to afford to send​ this type of info packet to all their customers. My wife and I both had some concerns that they'd find any problem to fix even if it was unnecessary. Not so. Gardner was the senior design technician that was assigned to us and I found him to be very straightforward and honest​. I never got a salesy feel from him. He was very meticulous and detailed in his inspections. We began inspecting the outside perimeter of the house and then inside looking for cracks or abnormalities. He then did the same for the interior. Afterwards, he checked multiple points of our floor to see whether they were leveled. Throughout the process, he was great at taking time to educate​ and inform me of what he's looking for, why, and what I should be observing later on. At the end of a ~30 minute inspection, it turned out that our foundation was structurally in good shape. He explained that there were a few areas that were mentionable​ but were within the bounds of normal settling. His recommendation for us was to take pictures​ of our cracks and continue to observe it annually. He also recommended that we ensure no water was pooling towards the foundation. I'm glad that I didn't have anything to fix but if I do in the future, I'd definitely feel comfortable going back to them and recommending friends and family. Just completed a repair of my front porch (which had sunk away from our house by 2-3 inches), and adjoining sidewalks which were no longer level. Matvey successfully completed this job to my complete satisfaction. I choose Matvey because of their use of hardening foam rather than concrete slurry used by other contractors; and I think I made the right choice. My job took about 3 hours to complete, the repairmen were professional, and everything went very well. I think the cost of the work was reasonable given the time spent on the job, and the cost of materials, and I think a kind of royalty arrangement that Matvey has to pay to the inventor of the foam that they use. So, all is good, and for any concrete lifting job, I would highly recommend. read more

Major no on Matvey. This company is extremely pushy and wants to sell its overpriced services -- regardless of whether your home actually needs it. Under the auspices of a comprehensive evaluation of our home, the Matvey salesman spent almost 2 hours at our home conjuring up plans for our foundation and trying to convince us that our home was at risk of structural problems. We got 4 opinions on the structure of our home. Matvey was the only company that suggested major foundation work, and their bid was a whopping $28,000 more than what any other company suggested for our foundation. Since our consultation with Matvey, they have continued to pester us with unsolicited mailers. read more

We hired Matvey to pump up our driveway as it had sunk and caused a tripping hazard. They came out while we were at work and sent us the invoice to the work they had done on the neighbor's house two doors down. We caught the error through the photos of a home that was not our own and a crack that was a fraction of the work of our order. They apparently apologized to my husband for the mistake and rescheduled the work to be done 3 days later. We originally timed the construction to be completed for our realty listing photos, but had to push listing our home back due to the mistake on their end. Although the driveway looks better than it did before, I am not satisfied with the work. There is still a tripping hazard where the driveway meets the front steps, as the concrete remains unleveled. Also, the filler they used is an eye sore. They did not fill the cracks (said I was due to rain) They also charged us an additional $175 more than what we were quoted for. We would have been better off having the driveway completely replaced. read more

The polylevel use to lift 3 sections of our driveway did NOT meet our and the salesman's expectations despite paying a significant amount of money for the service. No change at all on 2 sections, and .25" change on the 3rd and created cracks where none existed before. This was very disappointing, and requests for additional options went ignored by the company. This is a review for a project that was completed in November 2020 (just got around to writing it). As with many people here, my front concrete steps were sinking, along with the attached sidewalk, garage slab and back concrete patio. I had gotten quotes several years ago when I realized how bad it was getting, but I wasn't ready to fix it because I wasn't sure that it had stopped sinking. Well I finally decided to get the front porch steps and sidewalk fixed, as it was pulling the siding down with it and exposing the house wrap underneath. Also, their 25 year, 1/4 inch warranty is transferable, and I will likely sell the home in 3 years, so I liked that for potential buyers. I will probably contract with them again before I sell the house to fix the back patio, because it is also pulling the siding down. Too bad I didn't know enough to question the concrete pour against the siding when I bought the home in 2001. Anyway, I see that there are some poor reviews of Matvey here, but for my experience, everything went smoothly and to my satisfaction. I wish I had some before and after pictures to post, but again, they got the porch back to nearly the original height. read more

We had bought a house in Mill Creek. After buying it I noticed a crack in the ceiling going down the wall. I made an appointment with this company and a gentleman named Steven Thorton came to look at our house. Right away I could tell he was genuine. He didn't think we needed foundation repair at this time and was very helpful. He did recommend other things we should do like replace our vapor barrier and rodent issues. He even gave us instructions for what to do that had nothing to do with foundation repair. He was just a standup guy who went above and beyond and gave us a heads up about other issues he noticed. He said we may need their services in the future if the crack gets worse. I will definitely go with company in the future because of the trust this gentleman instilled in us. I couldn't write enough words to express how impressed we are with Matvey and the work they just did to re-level our unique patio made of several large concrete patio slabs that had sunken/risen over the many years we've lived here, to become virtually unusable and a dangerous trip hazard. We feared we'd have to tear it out and start over, but decided to get some bids to see if leveling was even an option. We had Matvey come out to check out our Deck which had dropped 4 inches and our house was settling. The rep discussed some options and we decided to address this ourselves. I also had them look at our driveway which was cracking for some time. The rep tested it and showed the areas that were in danger of breaking off, due to water washing away the soil underneath. They gave us a bid on the driveway (injecting foam underneath) that we were happy with (much cheaper than replacing it) and a 25 year warranty. I called Matvey they got ahold of the driver and he called me saying he had a family emergency and we rescheduled for the next week. Here it is next week and he didn't show up again. Obviously the family emergency bit was a lie. Repairman finally called and said we never setup a 2nd appointment and he sent me an estimate after I texted him pics of the porch which were lies. I thought this company was great initially when I had the inspection and received my quote for the repair work recommended on my foundation. Richard was great. The price was a little higher than expected but I thought I was choosing the best company. They started work right away then took 3 weeks to get back out for the second part of the job after I called multiple times and had trouble getting ahold of the scheduling dept. I even got emails requesting the final pymt to be processed when they weren't even done and no one would call me back to schedule.Long story short they have made appointments at the wrong time multiples times now and I have had to sit at home waiting just for no one to show. I've had to push out other contractors for over a month past when I was expecting this to be completed. I am beyond annoyed and would never choose them again. They need to communicate better with each other and train on how to schedule property and actually let the customer know. Especially when they paid over $10,000.00. Disappointing! read more
