my neighborhood coffee spot. the roast is fantastic. the pastries and sandwiches are quite good. the atmosphere has a rustic open feel and you are welcome to stay and work, read, hang out as long as you like. the owner is a cool guy. i took a star away because it can get really really crowded and basically a shit show. lots of tourists stop in post soho shopping. and its a bit over-priced, esp the food. note: the espresso is mad strong and robust but in a good way. if you like starbucks or dd, don't bother. read more

I'm one of those people who set up shop here (laptop, paperwork and coffee for several hours) much to my disgrace but an occupational must. This place has a good vibe, friendly barista's and owner who is clearly a bicyclist because there are tons of bicycle magazines at the counter. My local - hands down. Great, strong latte in New York (which is SO hard to find). Relaxed vibe with shared tables and one seat which looks out onto the street (for people watching, obviously!). Ground Support has the best coffee in Soho. They're usually pretty quick, friendly, and playing good music. The homemade peanut butter and jelly sammiches are also pretty tasty. I've been here enough to notice some inconsistencies in the brew quality, and on occasion I get annoyed that I pay so much for my morning fix, but it's a NYC coffee shop: expensive and full of character. read more

Awesomeeee! They normally have lines out the door in the morning but I go around lunch and I'm normally the first person in line. They have amazing coffee and GREAT sandwiches. Their cold sandwiches are pre-prepared so its super fast to get those. I cannot explainnnnnn how amazing they are. Just moved over from Melbourne, Australia and am used to strong espresso,we have so many espresso bars and cafe's with amazing espresso coffee, I cant wait to map out the spots around the city for my fix when in the areas. Ground Support is the first dot on my map for Soho thus far, giving that I have only been here for three weeks. I found out about this place on my way to an interview and had not had a coffee in two weeks, I eagerly lined up thinking about how great the coffee was going to be,how good the first sip would taste only to realize that all this time was lining up for soup, I was kindly guided by someone else in the line to go to Ground Support. I believe if an indie kid or an old italian man is making the coffee and there always is a good number of people getting the coffee from a place, than there is a good chance you will receive a coffee where the milk is not burnt, the froth creamy and a good flavor. I am no coffee expert and nor do I claim to be but I enjoy this coffee, it is a relaxed environment, where people go to meet, shared seating and people on their computers. I have not eaten at Ground Support but their coffee prices are not cheap but as to be expected. read more

this is my favorite coffee spot in nyc for five reasons: 1) the coffee is delicious - i never need to add milk to it. 2) the food is fantastic (my favorite sandwich is the prosciutto -with strawberry/rhubarb jam and my favorite cookie is the molasses one by the register). 3) the staff is always friendly (particularly the owner steven - he embodies all that is great in the small business owner) 4) there are tables that i can sit and work at along with free wifi. 5) the benches out front get great morning sunlight and the people watching is unbeatable. if you haven't tried it yet, definitely get yourself to west broadway. read more

Really enjoyed this place. Had the Chemex with the Kenya Karatina Peaberry from Intelligentsia today, which I guess is in season. Very smooth and fresh tasting, which a nice orange-y color. Only drawback is it gets crowded. But if you go in right when it opens you can have the place to yourself. read more

I really love this place. Although it is kind of pricey- hello it is NYC and soho, what can you expect? Their almond milk latte (hot or iced) is my go to drink (around $5) Sooo good, doesn't even need sweetener which I use in regular coffee. Their bagels are excellent. All the food looks good but I always get the arugula salad. I love it! Filling, hearty, and large - it makes a great lunch! The interior is nice with lots of communal tables and a cute wood bench facing out the front window. I like this in the winter when it's too cold to sit on a real bench outside. Seems like I always have to grab a ground support iced coffee for our summer walk through soho. Really flavorful.

I would love to complain about Ground Support prices but that would make me a hypocrite. I try and have my lunch there once a week with a group of my friends. Their chai latte and turkey sandwich leaves my mouth wanting more. If they could stop raising their prices slowly, and keep it where they were last year I would change my weekly lunch to maybe 2-3 times a week. My only complaint is the prices, but the quality is beyond perfect. read more

awesome cafe in the fashionable part of soho. it's spacious and the drinks are crafted with beautiful latte art (if you get something with milk). I didn't get the food there, but it looks and smells quite good, so next time I'd be up to getting a sandwich. i normally like ground support but DO NOT get their bagels here. waste of money!!!!!! i walked in before work to get a bagel to-go. service was nice and bagel was toasted generously but cream cheese spread on bagel was half-ass job. parts of the bagel inside did not even have cream cheese, probably 50% of the bagel did not, and it was not spread evenly. i paid money for this crap. i might as well should have asked for plain bread! also the bagel was not wrapped properly and nearly got loose in my purse. breakfast crowd was slow for a coffee shop so they should have had time to do things properly. very disappointed. read more
