Manning's, however, have certainly mastered their craft over the years, and consistently sell great cakes that look good and, more importantly, taste good. This particular Manning's sells sandwiches made to order, breads and a variety of cakes. The do the traditional range of cream cakes ( I have to put a word in here for their custard slice - creamy, sticky and probably very bad for you, but certainly very delicious). They also sell large cakes for birthdays, parties or even weddings and can personalise them for you. A great bakery which always stands out!

But then again, when held away from the messy tangle of food court offerings, this little coffee n' cake shop has a chance to shine. Offering a lovely selection of fairy cakes, scones buns and cream cakes (with the red stripe down the middle!) along to-order birthday cakes and a solid sandwich menu, Manning's is a saner stop off for tired shopping feet. The deals are quite good -€3.60 for cake and coffee, about €6ish if you make it a meal and throw a sandwich in. If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.
