I love their shelves with cute fun tin boxes for everything you can imagine! Scented candles from Yankee Candles, cushions, jewelry from SNÖ and so many more beautiful things. It is a bit on the pricey side, but then again, it is not "cheap stuff" in here. Friendly helpful staff. And the best thing - they accept AMEX!

This is the most well stocked true thrift store I've been to in Gothenburg. A lot of other places…read moreare focused on apparel and footwear only but this is like the ones you'd find in North America, donated items and not just apparel. They have some selection of kitchenware, framed art, appliances and a ton of clothing. Each of the floor didn't seem big but they have 3 or 4 floors, we had been walking all day already so I only made it to the 2nd floor and decided today is not the day to thrift hunt. Though I didn't purchase anything from here, I saw some great items that piqued my interest. Just didn't want to carry all over town with our visit. Definitely check them out if you're in the area and are looking for a true thrift shop, though the pricing on some items can be pricy. Employees seemed nice. Just another note, I noticed that the thrift stores in Sweden smelled the same as the ones in the US. Thought that was interesting that the 2nd hand smell is the same. :)

(This is run for the benefit of the Salvation Army's social programme)…read more Myrorna sell only second hand stuff. You can find clothes, books, porcelain, utensils and furnitures etc. This store is large (3 storeys) and very well organized. Very well. I like that they arrange the glass and porcelain items on the ground floor colorwise. Books are around 20 SEK (paper back) and up. Otherwise i sometimes find it a bit pricy actually. (A second hand shirt from Melka at 110 SEK???) Nowadays it is not easy to bargain, they know how to price valuable and sought for items. Which is a pity. If you even get the chance to find them in the store.

Pink and flowers! (No not all girls love pink, I know). Everything is really cute but honestly makes perfect gifts more than shopping to yourself. For scrapbooking they have a little corner with the basics of paper and decoration and the prices are decent at least for card stock. (SEK 7 a piece) The premises are really small and do not bring big bags, it is hopeless to move in here.

Although most of the items were predictably pricey, I found a beautiful pair of leather gloves for a reasonable price. Also, the owner was very friendly.

For me Åhléns used to have a cheaper connotation to it. But that was years ago…read more Åhléns is very much a qualitative department store - luxurious, expensive, fashionable and so much fun stuff to find! I enjoy just browsing the four stories. They have probably hundreds of brands of each category/department. Good competitor to NK. I especially like their home decor and office department. The CDs and DVDs are too pricey to bother buying here. Their beauty and makeup department is really something, and even if do not buy much makeup in Sweden (too expensive IMO) I enjoy trying colors and fragrances. It is a bit odd but fascinating to see the Japanese brand MUJI actually has its own category on the navigation signs, no other brand does. MUJI seems to be the only brand for the (plastic) storage products. Are you from a non-EU country look for Global Blue Tax Free signs. They will for sure ask if you are a member. Membership is free as long as you shop enough (don't know the limit, didn't care). But why would I PAY for not buying? Like being punished if you do not tay true. Well, you get a magazine that I most likely wouldn't read. Still, I love the stores!

It certainly is not the best quality and I often find their textiles smelling from dyed color if you know what I mean. But I can live with that. Besides women's clothing you can find rugs, pillows, candles, table clothes and tablets, curtains, candle holders, mugs, glass etc etc. I recently decorated my entire balcony with stuff from Indiska - they had some cute plastic rugs that are perfect for outdoors.
