    SoCo Grill Menu for convenience

OH DO I HAVE SOME TEA TO SHARE Here's the summary...We came in from the rain ready to spend money, but instead of being treated like guests, we were treated like rule-breakers over my wife's half-finished cold hotel tea. She was sent back into the rain to throw it away. We left and went to SoCo Grille, where we were welcomed like friends, served amazing food, and even had staff cheer up our baby. This is what happens when "policy" matters more than people. Okay now here's the full cup of tea for those who would like some morning reading We walked in from the rain, my wife holding her half-finished cold hotel tea, excited to buy a fresh one here. Instead of "Good morning," the woman behind the counter (arms crossed) led with: "You can't have that tea in here." I explained we were here to spend money, plenty of it, but she clung to "policy" because they sell that tea. That "policy" sent my wife back into the rain to get rid of something she wasn't even drinking anymore. We decided that we wouldn't reward rudeness with our business and left. As we walked out, she tossed a sarcastic "Enjoy your tea!" at us. We crossed the street to SoCo Grille, where we were treated like guests, not rule-breakers. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and friendly conversation from the moment we walked in. Their delicious, affordable breakfast was worth every cent, and their kindness shone through when a staff member crafted a balloon glove to cheer up our fussy 1-year-old, bringing a smile to his face. SoCo Grille turned a sour start into a great morning. If you want to be welcomed, fed well, and treated with genuine hospitality, skip Grit & Grind and head to SoCo Grille. They get it! Here's the lesson: Policies are meant to protect a business, not push customers away. Good judgment means knowing when to make an exception...especially for a paying guest who's about to spend more money. Enforcing a rule for the sake of the rule might check a box, but it can cost you sales, loyalty, and reputation. In our case, it handed our business (and this glowing review) to the competition.

Classic American style cafe…read more Really enjoy the concept of a flaky crossaint like doughnut. Many unique seasonal rotating flavors. I enjoyed the strawberry shortcake, blueberry cheesecake, cinnamon sugar and maple bacon. Sign up for their rewards club for $5 off on your first purchase. For non-vegans, pass on the vegan donuts- they were dry, cankey, lackluster and fell short of what parlor doughnuts is known for (see my photos). They varied by toppings but because the donut base wasn't great, it felt like you had 3 of the same thing. For $4-5 each, this definitely was not for me. One issue in particular is exactly where one is supposed to stand to order???--- its kind of confusing. Several customers were skipped over even though they had arrived first, but they simply didn't know where to place their order. Several cashiers were jumping back and forth from the drive-thru to the lobby too, which made it feel chaotic. Lots of various donuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffees, etc. are available. The menu was larger than we expected. The donuts are terrific. They aren't super unique in their creativity or recipes, but they are crafted well and are brioche style, not cake like at all. Very light! They are a real treat and worth the cost. Despite the hiccup in the lobby ordering system and its chaos, we will definitely return to try other donuts we didn't try this first time in.
