I visited this venue for the first time in June 2011, I will not be rushing back unless it is a show that I cannot see elsewhere. Let's start with the good points - it has a free car park. With the good points taken care of now for the review - ticket prices are expensive, add to that the fact that they force you to Ticketmaster and you end up with a £24 ticket costing £32. Tthe rest being £3+ booking fees PLUS a £3+ "delivery fee" for collecting your tickets from the box office!
Do not be conned by the descriptions like "circle" when choosing your seats, what is euphemistically called the circle is in fact a bank of temporary tiered seating. The first row of the circle is in fact on the main floor and you're staring at the backs of the heads of the stalls! To add insult to injury of the price, the descriptions you then add £2.60 for a tiny tub of ice cream.
This really is an expensive, jumped up little venue with ideas well beyond its station. There are far, far better venues within an hours drive, far better value and real theatres. read more
