Changes were not adequately communicated during the project and subsequent billings were not adequately supported. Ownership was very reluctant to assume any responsibility, instead blaming overages on "creative changes". He pretty much threw everyone connected to the homeowner under the proverbial bus. Changes recommended as "creative ideas" turned out to be difficult for Bunch to manage effectively. We initially stated that we needed the project finished in July of 2012--it wasn't finished until mid-September and then only because we exerted significant pressure. In short, if you hire them make sure you have a firm budget and require detailed billing or you'll have no idea what you're paying for. In fact, you're probably best off to consider him only for small jobs. In retrospect the size and complexity of this project seemed to exceed the capabilities of Bunch Nurseries.

Our crew comes on a set day, weekly or every other week through October, and every visit includes trimming, a hard edge along the sidewalk and driveway, and the drive and walks blown clean. We price each lawn on the grass we measure, not the size of the lot. Spring and fall cleanups get leaves off the lawn, out of the beds and off the drive, with bed edges re-cut in spring and a final winter-height mow in fall. Leaf season runs through December, and most lots take more than one visit. For a thicker lawn, fertilization and weed control are applied by a state-licensed applicator and timed to the soil rather than the calendar, with core aeration and overseeding in early fall. Landscaping projects start with a walk of the property. We design and build beds, plantings suited to our heavy, wet soil, rock, edging, mulch, sod, and drainage fixes that move water away from the house. From late October into December we hang Christmas lights: commercial-grade C9 and mini lights cut to your roofline and clipped on, with no nails or staples. The lights are ours, so there is nothing to buy, and repairs, January takedown and storage are included. In winter we plow and salt driveways and lots.
