Went here on a business lunch and what a great place. I had the Clam Chowder for starters and it was well prepared and surprisingly good for being so far away from the coast. As a matter of fact, it was some of the best I have had and definately within the top 5. The Shepards Pie was good and tasted fine and as a bonus the Arnie was the BEST yet. Our visit was mediocre. Ordered margaritas and an appetizer in the bar. The appetizer was the spinach artichoke dip with naan bread. The dip was supposed to be served hot but it arrived maybe luke warm. We let our waitress know and she offered to warm it up. She brought it back and I asked how they warmed it and she said they sautéed it again...??? Okay. So we dip into it and it's literally even cooler than it was when she took it back the first time. She offered to take it away and I lost interest in the menu after that. She removed it from our bill which was nice but someone in the kitchen isn't paying attention. Ok where to start. Made a reservation for 5pm, get greeted by our server who is visibly flustered because management cut servers and decided to run a skeleton crew on a Friday night. Ordered 2 drinks and 1 app to start. Received one drink and the app pretty quickly! Opened my silverware only to find that it was dirty. Ok no big problem I'll just open the other one. Waited about 20 minutes for my drink after we were almost done with our apps and never received water the entire time we were there. My drink had black things floating around in it which was another nice surprise. So after 40 minutes we decided to leave and go elsewhere since we knew that it wasn't going to get much better from there. This is no slight to the servers/bartenders at all as they were all over seated and had one bartender for the entire place (which was full). My intention of this review to hopefully show management that their terrible labor based decisions trickle down to the overall service and experience. read more

It was a bad experience from the beginning, unfortunately. Started with us checking in with the hostess and the bartender walked up ranting about how annoying the customers there are. A requested well done burger came out completely pink for my daughter. Our server never once checked in so we couldn't even say anything. By the time she gave us the check we had waited so long we didn't as we wouldn't have waited for a new burger to be cooked. The only reason I give this place two stars is because the ambience is really nice and you get a great view if you sit outside. Had no reservation and we were told it was a 35 minute wait, but we got seated a little sooner which was nice. We ordered two salads and it took 35 minutes to get our food. What was frustrating was there were tables next to us who had sat after we were there, and they got their food before us. They were getting burgers, fish and chips, while we waited longer for two simple salads. When it was finally delivered, we weren't given silverware. We asked for it, they never came back. So we had to ask again while we sat and waited longer before we finally got to eat our salads. The salads were good, but not worth the wait and overpriced if it takes THAT long to make a salad. Came in on mothers days to enjoy a nice Mother's Day brunch. Within an hour my entire family had horrible food poisoning. Now I'm not one to write a review but I had no choice. I called Greg's to let them know about the food poisoning so that no other customers would eat the same menu items. I let the host know the situation and he put me on hold to get the manager. He came back on the line a minute later and said " the manager is too busy with other business". The items we ordered: -Calamari - Ahi Tuna (appetizer) - buffalo wings -clam chowder -French Dip (which we believe was the culprit) I would not only avoid these items but I'd avoid Greg's. I called as a courtesy as I truly did not want to leave a review however it's very apparent that Greg's does not care about their customers or food quality. Beyond this they didn't ask for my name or number or offer to call back. Super dissatisfied and disappointed. *I called back to try and speak to the manager again. The response was "food poisoning doesn't work that way, it takes one to two days" and hung up!! Beyond rude. The hostess continued to eat while we waited. The masking procedures are abysmal at best. Most workers wore them under their noses - including kitchen staff. We waited one hour after ordering salads. The food was good, albeit overpriced and SLOW. The restaurant itself could be cleaner - don't look at the carpet/baseboard. If Anthony's is open, do yourself a favor and go there. read more

I'm astonished that a restaurant can charge so much for such poor quality food. The steak sandwich I ordered had small scraps of overcooked meat hidden under soggy greens. I would have sent it back, something I don't know that I've ever done, but we had waited over an hour for our three entrees, and I couldn't wait any longer. The $4 taco I got from a truck for lunch was more skillfully prepared, better presented, and much more delicious. When they say "looks can be deceiving" I'd say this describes this establishment. The hype was real when we had a family dinner at Greg's Grill. The decor of the establishment was beautiful and I loved the architecture of the place but when it came to being a functional restaurant it missed the mark. Where to start with this review is hard so I'll just jump right in... it took 80 minutes for our food to arrive from the time we ordered and upon arrival we received cold under seasoned food. The butter on the steak was ice cold not even melting over the cold steak... The Filet Mignon and New York Steak were dry, cold, and were not even seasoned.. was a sad day. My meal with the rotisserie Prime Rib was actually packed with flavor but maybe because it sits on a rotisserie and isn't cooked by the chef, but the dish was delicious. Another one of us ordered the rotisserie chicken which was also flavorful. Anything not rotisserie was cold when arriving to our table. So we prayed that the dessert would redeem the night.. but alas another disappointment. It took 45 minutes for our dessert to arrive and we ordered the campfire cookie that is a basic cookie baked with ice cream and fudge drizzle on top as well as the Greg's Ice Cream Sandwich. Both were overwhelmingly chocolate filled but were not terrible I guess. My ice cream sandwich had hard as rock cookies that literally just tasted like they pulled chips ahoy cookies from a sleeve and slapped them on. Our service was decent but not spectacular.. I felt bad for our waitress because she knew we were waiting a long time and she even told us "the steak is off tonight" so the kitchen staff were not on point when we went. Disappointing dinner at this establishment and would not return. Some highlights I did like was actually their house sour beer which was great if you like sour beers, and again if you order any meal items still with rotisserie! Just a great spot to sit on the patio and get away from the sun. We stopped in to enjoy a cool drink and some apps. I had a nice cold RPM IPA and the wife enjoyed a great central coast Cali pinot noir. Topped off with the calimari which was very good. We went to this restaurant for lunch (October 2021) on the strength of good reviews across the review sites and frankly we can't understand the high scores. First, the menu of 30-odd items didn't have a single vegetarian friendly entree. The salad section consisted entirely of a side salad and meat salad options. Our vegetarian paid full price for a grilled chicken salad without chicken. The menu weakness could be forgiven except that the food was profoundly mediocre. Garlic bread consisted of sprinkled on garlic chunks and Parmesan cheese. The French dip was billed as prime rib shavings, it was dry and bland beef on a toasted roll with barely any of the promised sauce. The jus was forgettable. Our chicken sandwich had similar ingredient problems, simply low quality and bland. Also, the "pub fries" were quite literally fries from a bag. None of this is what you expect for $22 entrees. The decor and ambiance are tired and lackluster, high noise level, really only the river view is worth the time. I have good things to say about our server, who was clearly serving a lot of tables and was attentive throughout. If your plan is to dine here in Bend, strongly consider driving anywhere in the five minute radius to much better restaurants. read more

Avoid this spot. We showed up after the lunch rush at about 1:30pm. The hostess was very unfriendly and non accommodating. Was told there was a 15 minute wait, so we got onto the wait list. After half an hour, I had to go back to the hostess to ask when the table was going to be available. We were seated as soon as I asked, as if they had forgotten to let me know the table was ready. Terrible. We ordered drinks, they came back 15 minutes later to say they are out of the vodka and can't make them. Inconvenient. Our appetizer, the potstickers, arrived cold. $18 for cold food. After an hour of waiting for food, I had the Kobe beef sliders. Uninspired chain-restaurant quality burgers. It took them 40 minutes to make a salad and the tuna was fishy. Disgraceful. Our server was very friendly. Drink service was fast as well as our appetizer which was good! However it took an unusually long time for our entrees to come out which we figured our server must have forgot about because when our food came out it was cold or the chef didn't pace the dishes well. Overall, entree #1 was so overcooked you couldn't eat it unless you wanted to chew on it piece by piece for thirty minutes each which is disappointing. Furthermore I specifically asked for the butter on the side yet it was all over the plate and made the rest of my food so soggy that by the point it got to me, I couldn't eat my side either. Entree #2 was so undercooked it was actually raw and also not edible. Entree #3 was actually burnt. And I mean seriously burnt. The inside was a perfect medium, yet it was horrible to eat because the outside was charred, and not in a good way. I mean the place is great for a river side view but the prices they were charging for the quality of the food was awful. Something needs to change because that was absolutely horrible. Our server even knew our food was bad because she kept coming by and asking if we liked it and or what was wrong with it. We didn't want to say anything so we just left. Nothing to her because she was great but it seems like even the workers know the food isn't good. I mean I genuinely don't think I've ever had a steak that bad in my entire life. Nonetheless seen three that messed up all at the same table. I would unfortunately not recommend eating here and probably won't be coming back because the last time we came it was just as bad. They got our large party (8) in for a same day reservation -- thank you! 3. Cocktails were solid! 4. New menu items we loved: the Cuban & the burgers!! Cons: 1. The remodel wasn't totally finished so there was some unfinished carpentry and stuff. 2. New menu items we didn't love: the mushroom carbonara (I wouldn't expect them to keep on the menu for long!) and the avocado poke (has the makings of a winning app if fresher and better seasoned!). It's a piece of crostini with the thinnest two slivers of avocado, no sea salt and olive oil only on the toast, not on the avocado. If you google avocado toast, you will see that it is a generous amount of avocado smashed into toast. I asked the waitress if the avocado ratio per the toast was correct, and I was told yes and that I could add on more. I didn't want to pay for more avocado, with the chance it just be two more silvers per toast?! So I don't understand this restaurant's take on avocado toast which is an insult to avocado toast everywhere, and is way overpriced at $11. read more

I give the views service and atmosphere a five but the food was just horrible. I wish I had read the reviews on this place before dragging a bunch of my friends here for dinner last night. It looked so nice and menu sounded great. There were 11 of us, we had a reservation for 7:30. We ordered drinks and appetizers, it was after we ordered those items is when our waiter decided to tell us they were out of everything we had planned on ordering. The food was mediocre at best. Nobody's steak was cooked correctly. I ordered the steak bites and had to cut it into my own bites as it was a slab of steak with cold fries. It was way over priced too. If you just want to sit and look at the views, I recommend just going and hanging out and ordering a couple of drinks. read more

This is such a beautiful restaurant. The staff was very friendly, but stretched thin. Service was slow, but I'm not faulting the staff, just not enough coverage for the number of people coming here. This is a big place! As for the food, way over priced. $39.00 for a 1/4" thick piece of Prime Rib. I realize costs are rising, but this business plan needs a rethink. But I don't go for the food it has never been good they run this restaurant on the location . Tourists will go once but locals do not frequent . We ate here for New Year's Eve at 5pm and I wanted the chicken nachos but sadly they weren't serving their "happy hour" entrees that night. I opted for the chicken satay w rice and it was very tough and very spicy! Flat iron steak does not look like the pictures on the internet but it was good - again a little tough in parts. Grilled Chicken salad looked fresh and tasty and the ahi tuna was good. They serve complimentary bread w butter. The best item on the menu was the gluten free cobbler w ice cream! A lot of items on the menu here are a hit or miss. The burgers are great. The patties are high quality beef, veggies are fresh, and cheese obviously isn't preserved. The fish n chips and seafood dishes can be a bit under seasoned or bland which is a let down. The prices may be a bit alarming to some people but the portions are actually perfect for the prices. read more

One of the main draws of Greg's Grill is its beautiful view of the Deschutes River, which is definitely a highlight of the dining experience.
