Such an adorable coffee shop that is just the right amount of cute and not trendy. Big bonus is that they are open at 7 AM which is way earlier than all the other coffee shops in the area. Came by for their free drink promotion on "national oat milk day" (any excuse for free coffee is a good excuse). The cold brew tasted great with the oat milk, it balanced out to a creamy taste with just a hint of nuttiness from the cold brew. For a high volume area this location typically has a good amount of open seating and has enough space in the back to spend a fair amount of time there hanging out or getting work done without feeling cramped. Another Gregory's morning! Got coffee with almond milk, along with the banana almond pound cake. The cake really didn't taste like banana, much to my chagrin. I kept on trying it, and searching for that flavor, but all my taste buds found were almonds and fluffy cake. It wasn't bad, and went great with the coffee, but it was just lacking the banana I was craving. The coffee was great. I feel pretty bitter about how this location keeps the almond milk behind the counter, so you have to ask them to pour it for you. It felt extremely cheap. You can't even pour it in your cup yourself when you ask for almond milk. So I needed some more, so I proceeded to ask for more, and I felt like I was bothering them, especially since it's busy and there's a line, so that made me salty. Unfortunately I must rescind the good review I left here a few weeks ago, as I've had exceedingly poor service from this Gregory's location (via GrubHub delivery) ever since. Rather than improving, after informing management every time, it has gone from bad to worse. For that reason, Gregory's will no longer be my nearly daily go-to. The issue seems to be lack of care taken in preparing orders. One day I got the wrong sandwich after ordering a vegan deluxe, happy to see it back on the menu. Another time I got a 'Spicy Avo' on an untoasted piece of bread (although it is avocado TOAST, & makes the item what it is), & on another day received one w/ only a large dab of avocado in the middle of the bread (instead of a proper amount, spread out to the edges). I have gotten the really special rice chex pastry twice w/ what appeared to be a piece missing. Yesterday I received a banana covered w/ spots (too ripe to sell) & badly bruised. In recent days, the chai latte has not been as fully chai-flavored as usual, leading me to believe not as much chai mix has been added. Of note is that most of these poor-quality orders were filled by the same person. It would seem that retraining of staff is indicated @ this location, but apparently that has not taken place. After diligently reporting each incident to the location manager & to requested evaluations every time you order (supposedly sent to upper management), nothing has changed, & issues occur nearly every time I order now. These deliveries are quite expensive, so now I must speak w/ my wallet & no longer patronize Gregory's. I will not go into 2 deliveries that were horrible, as it was likely that one was the delivery person's fault, & the other was the delivery person's fault (& GrubHub's, for hiring someone unequipped for the job). read more

Thing to work on and reason for not a 5 star: Often/always out of ketchup and sriracha which is a bummer when you order the breakfast sandwiches (vegan or non vegan who doesn't want ketchup on their breakfast sammy?) also and this one is subjective: I prefer old school Iced coffee to cold brew (I hate the taste of cold brew) and prefer they also had a traditional iced coffee option as well as cold brew. I have been following Gregorys Coffee on instagram and I've always thought he posted a heck of a lot of photos of himself, but I thought I'd try his coffee. I wouldn't normally be in this area, but I had a doctor appointment nearby and sort of stumbled upon one. I had an oat milk latte that was pretty good, but I've certainly had better. The milk was a little over steamed and slightly burned. The service was OK and I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie that was also just OK. This is a pretty big space and I guess before COVID they were busy, but it wasn't crowded and it was nice to not be crammed into a space while waiting for my drink. I would come to a Gregory's again, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Nothing bad, but nothing special. I think the logo is creepy and narcissistic, but that didn't affect my review. Just had a very bad experience at this location. We ordered two ice lattes with 2 percent milk. Upon tasting them the milk was clearly spoiled. Spoke with the barista who checked the milk and confirmed it was spoiled. They asked what they could do to make it right and I said please refund the coffees as well as remaking them as this is really bad. The Barista went to speak with the manager who seemed disinterested and said we can give you a pastry. The manager did not come over to apologize at all. The manager didn't seem to grasp how serious serving spoiled milk is. I would give zero stars for this experience. read more

This is my second time coming to NY for work trip and I keep coming back to this place because 1) Its conveniently close to the office 2)Coffee is really good 3) their breakfast options are also really good. They have plenty of seating in you are not taking it to go which is also nice. They have tons of coffee and snack options at this place which is nice. The staff for the most part is also really helpful and nice every time I have been here. As busy as NYC is this is a place you can grab something and just go. I used to go to Gregory's right outside my work when I used to live in the Yorkville/Upper East side area near MSKCC. I really liked the coffee there, and was super excited to see one right after my dental appointment near E.23rd. OK I know I'm not supposed to drink coffee right after my cleaning as it stains teeth, but I was running on 6 hours of sleep and I was TIRED. I made do though with an iced cold-brew! ICED so that I could drink it with a straw! PROS - came out super quick - service was super fast, servers were patient. - line moved quick even though there was always 5-6 people in line (I ended up going back for my friend's latte) CONS: - none There's a good selection of breakfast items in the refrigerated section as well as a small assortment of pastries. None of which I got to try because I had a 40min walk back to work-from-home. The latte did end up carrying very very well and my friend really liked it! Did not get cold either. The cold-brew was very well made and was even good the morning after (I got a super large to make it last two days lol). There is some outdoor seating as well (as there is minimal seating indoors). Just an update on that CBD latte I was eyeing in my last review. You may think strawberry syrup in coffee is pretty wack and I would normally be ordering no such thing as I drink my coffee black and strong (4 shot Americano) 90% of the time. But. This latte might have saved my sanity last month. I was going through a stressful period and my stomach was in knots and head kinda groggy yet still racing with no direction. I thought even if this shit is the stuff of charlatans, I'm gonna try it because I've heard all kinds of claims that CBD may very well make your life 100% better. Not sure if that's true, but dang, this latte is amazing. It tastes so creamy (Oat milk FTW) and not too sweet, but the strawberry flavor really really works to make it next level delicious. And the ensuing feeling, besides deep, deep love? Focused, alert and calm. Stomach knot-free. As one of the baristas recently told me, "it's like strawberry Quik for stoners." I stopped in and got a Vegan Deluxe sandwich - vegan cheese (Daiya?), Just Egg, and Beyond Sausage on a delicious flaky croissant. It was so good and hit the spot just right on a chilly early spring morning. The sandwich itself looked a little hastily prepared, but in all honesty, that just added to the "fresh from the food truck" feel I miss from getting egg sandwiches in my pre-vegan days. David vs Goliath in the NYC coffee scene. When I get sick of Starbucks I walk a few blocks over to this superb little indie type coffee house I recently discovered close to my office on Park Ave South. Variety of coffees, cappuccino, and teas. Great place to go for lunch as they also carry small sandwiches and other things for a quick snack. Lots of seating even though it can get a bit cramped. Free wifi is always a plus, and it does not seem like many people will linger for long amounts of time as you see in other places with free wifi hogging up the seats. I also noticed that they sell bags of coffees to go and other coffee related products.They even have a customer loyalty card that can gain you free coffee and merchandise. Staff is friendly and quick too. Keep fighting the good fight Gregory's! read more

To start it off, I am getting sick and tired of buying Starbucks so I wanted to try some good coffee places around the city!! I saw the reviews for this place a few weeks ago when I was venturing around with a few friends but never really got to go. A friend and I were headed to some weird Korean Mexican fusion place and on the way there, we saw this place! I knew I had to go there and at least check it out. When we walked it, we noticed it was very spacious! Lots of chairs and tables in the back however there were stand up tables in the front. We weren't really there for a while though which was a shame. I bought a caramel macchiato which I enjoyed. It wasn't too sweet (unlike Starbucks!!! Bleh) which I enjoyed. I got a chance to snap a picture of my drink while my friend went to the restroom! I liked it a lot however I wish I bought one of their pastries!!! I hope to come back. read more

Although it's in a great area and the vibe is solid, I was first underwhelmed by the customer service. Very unenthusiastic greeting etc despite my clear appreciation and gratitude for their service. But no worries, I generally think any fantastic coffee can easily overcome mediocre service. But honestly I got this special latte flower something or other...highly, highly underwhelmed. Coffee was great but no coconut milk dairy alternative. Great up-sell skills by the cashier but the energy balls were subpar for $3.50 each. I had one peanut butter banana and one matcha ball. Matcha flavor and ingredients inside were interesting. One time taste is enough though.
