Had to bring my fur baby in and immediately was greeted by a friendly front desk staff gushing over my little man. (Bruno) Then Dr.Dworkin was an absolute ray of sunshine, along with her assistant. Bruno was so happy with their care and hardly gave them any grief through the exam. He was in the best hands and such a wonderful experience. Moving here from Venice we were concerned on finding a good Vet Clinic and we truly lucked out! Thank YOU!! 10/10

We wanted a vet that could provide our pup with an annual heart worm shot instead of the monthly heart worm pill that was wrecking our dog's stomach. After reading the glowing reviews we decided to take our fur baby to Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic. Everyone here is so nice here so I see why so many others love this vet as much as we do! Most importantly, they carry the ProHeart injection to prevent heart worms so we were able to ditch the pills that were causing our dog so much discomfort. Our previous vet was so hard to reach and I would constantly have to leave voicemails that seemed to take forever to get returned. I never have an issue reaching Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic. They also have an online app that makes it super easy to schedule an appointment. Parking is a little limited since the vet is located in Hyde Park, but if the parking lot is full there is plenty of street parking off of South Newport Avenue. During covid the office has allowed curbside drop off and pick up. I hope that this option continues to be available because it is so much easier for me to sit in my car with my toddler boys instead of dragging them inside the vet. I am so glad we made the switch to Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic!

I called and easily made an appointment for the following week. Parking is plentiful as they have a large lot. The front desk was efficient, and I was taken back only about 10 minutes after my appointment time. I didn't get anyone's name, but the vet tech helping me was very friendly, and took down all of Herbie's details. Then the female vet came in, and she too was friendly and efficient, and put my mind at ease that nothing was wrong. She couldn't listen to Herbie's heart, however, because he wouldn't stop purring. Awww.. little guy. I did pay extra (which is weird I think) to have Herbie's nails clipped. They took him to the back for this, while I waited in the lobby. When he was returned to me, I was told he was grumpy about having this done. I guess that's why they actually missed clipping all his nails, and I had to do a few when I got home. I'm excited that this is my new vet because they are close by, efficient, and friendly.

ZERO STARS After…read morebeing a loyal client for more than two years, I was beyond disappointed by the inconsistency in how this practice handles "emergencies." I recently needed to reschedule a technician appointment for my dog's Cytopoint injection due to a major plumbing emergency at my home. In an effort to still get my dog the allergy medication desperately needed, I rescheduled twice on the same day, moving the appointment from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. When it became clear the plumbers were far from finished, I called approximately 1.5 hours before the appointment to provide an update. Rather than focusing on helping me and my pet reschedule, the conversation immediately turned to a warning that if I needed to reschedule one more time, I would be required to place a $25 deposit on all future appointments, followed by a detailed review of the clinic's four-hour cancellation policy. There was no acknowledgment of the extenuating circumstances that led to my request or the fact that I had provided advance notice. What is particularly frustrating is that the clinic does not appear to extend the same consideration to its clients. During a previous visit in 2026, I was left standing next to my 14-year-old dog with IVDD on exam table and left waiting for approximately 40-50 minutes while staff attended to an emergency involving a chicken that had been brought into the clinic. I completely understand that veterinary emergencies happen and should take priority. However, by the clinic's own logic and policies, clients' time should have value as well. No one offered a discount, credit, apology, or even an acknowledgment that my appointment had been significantly delayed. The inconsistency is hard to ignore. When a client experiences an unforeseen emergency and provides advance notice, they are reminded about clinic policies and future fees. When the clinic's schedule is disrupted by its own emergency, clients are expected to absorb the lost time, missed work, and inconvenience without the same level of consideration - what a glaring double standard! Empathy, understanding, and consistency work both ways. These most recent interactions left me feeling that my pet's health, and my time and hard-earned money would be better spent anywhere else.

When my ferrets passed within a few weeks of each other earlier this year, the vet staff made the devastating time easy for me and helped me SO much. I wouldn't have been able to get through that time in my life without them and their willingness to just take over and do everything for me as far as cremation and all that goes along with a tragedy. It's still can't go inside the building when I need to take my other animals in and they are so accommodating and understanding. Beyond that, the veterinarians are highly skilled yet can explain things in layman's terms. I DEFINITELY recommend.

When I repeatedly questioned whether all the proposed lab work was truly necessary, the veterinarian finally admitted that several tests were not necessary at that point and could wait. If I had not challenged the recommendations, would I have been charged for lab work my pet did not immediately need? I then asked to speak with the owner, who is also a veterinarian. Instead of addressing my concerns, she told me that the clinic has to make money to pay its overhead. I was stunned. I asked her directly whether that meant they take advantage of trusting customers who bring in their beloved family pets by recommending services that are not immediately necessary. She had no response. I also heard that the practice is moving into a larger facility. After being told that customers' money is needed to cover the clinic's overhead, I cannot help but question whether aggressive testing and excessive charges are helping finance that expansion!!!!! That is my personal concern based on what I experienced and what the owner said directly to me!! Veterinary recommendations should be based on what an animal medically needs--not on a clinic's overhead or expansion plans. Pet owners are frightened and vulnerable during an emergency, and they deserve honesty, transparency, and informed consent. I left feeling misled, taken advantage of, and unable to trust their recommendations. I will never return. Demand an itemized estimate, ask whether every test is immediately necessary, and consider getting a second opinion. Based on my experience, go here at your own financial risk!!!

From the minute I walked in, I felt welcomed. Dante at the front desk was fantastic. He answered immediately, was friendly and patient, answered my questions, and even helped me with an issue I was dealing with. He greeted me with a genuine smile, and you could tell it wasn't fake or forced. That really stood out to me because unfortunately, not every vet's office makes you feel welcome when you walk through the door. Marlyn was another huge part of why this visit was so special. She was seriously a breath of fresh air. I was nervous because I have a 17-year-old dog, and I was already anxious about everything. Marlyn has this incredibly positive energy that immediately made me feel more relaxed. She was so personable and kind, and she interacted with my dogs instead of just treating them like another appointment on the schedule. You could tell she genuinely loves animals. She played with them, gave them attention, and even did my other dog's nails without charging me. That was so unexpected and so appreciated. She also took the time to explain the medication and dosing to me and went over possible side effects. She wrote everything down so I could refer back to it later, which was extremely helpful. Then she surprised us with Halloween bandanas for both dogs! I honestly wasn't expecting that at all. She made what could have been a stressful vet visit into such a fun memory. We ended up taking pictures of the dogs in their bandanas, and they came out so good they looked like professional photos! It really says something when someone is genuinely happy doing their job, because that happiness is contagious. I also can't say enough about Dr. Mark Twilla. He has been with me through some incredibly hard moments. When I had to put my dog Soldier down, I was absolutely devastated. I was crying and a complete mess, and Dr. Twilla was calm, compassionate, and never once made me feel judged. He handled that moment with the kind of kindness and dignity I will never forget. He has since cared for two of my other dogs, and I've always had a great experience. The wait is usually no more than five minutes, the rooms are clean, and he takes the time to actually explain what is happening. I never feel like I'm being talked over or pressured into things I don't understand. After having an experience elsewhere where I was facing a $10,000 bill, I really appreciate having a veterinarian who explains the situation, gives honest recommendations, and helps me understand my options. Dr. Twilla is friendly, knowledgeable, and actually listens. That's becoming harder and harder to find these days. And I want to thank Carlos as well. I was honest about having some financial difficulties, and instead of making me feel embarrassed about it, he worked with me. I was genuinely grateful for his understanding and help. You can tell he cares about the people and animals who come through the doors, and I think that says a lot about the kind of leader he is. Honestly, I think the reason the entire team at Sunshine is so great is because it starts with leadership and carries through to everyone else. I've lost pets, I've worried about pets, I've cried over pets, and I've celebrated plenty of moments with them too. Having a veterinary team that understands how much these animals mean to us makes all the difference. Sunshine Animal Hospital has earned my trust, and that's not something I give easily. I will absolutely be recommending them to my friends, family, and anyone who asks where they should take their pets. Thank you, Sunshine team, for taking care of my dogs and for treating me with compassion along the way. You guys really are amazing.
