I was looking for Dr. Hollett's contact info online and came across the yelp site and viewed…read moreseveral negative reviews. I felt it appropriate to give a different view. I have been a 20+ year patient of Dr. Hollett. While his bedside manner may not be everyone's cup of tea, he has always been available to our family, still calls lab results himself (often at 10PM!), and is truly a throw back to the days of what we used to call "family doctor". today, everyone is either a primary care physician or a specialist. Dr. Hollett often has DMC interns tagging along with him in his office which, to me, shows his interest in helping tomorrow's physicians see the important work of family doctors. I first came to Dr. Hollett 20 years ago after being dropped as a patient of another doctor when I complained about waiting in his office for 2 hours. Seemed the former doctor was concerned about having patients criticize him for his office's lack of patient consideration. Dr. Hollett has never shown one instance of lack of concern about my well being. I would still keep him as my family doctor if I hadn't moved to South Carolina. Final summary: Excellent physician, personality skills could use some work. Taken in total, I would not want another physician.

I have been Dr. Qureshi's patient for more than a decade. He has always treated me like I am his…read moreonly patient. He is always extremely concerned about my overall heath and even more concerned about my heart. From my first visit he has talked and treated me not only like a Dr. but also as a close friend. One time he was in California when I had an issue. He called me and offered to cut his trip short and come back to treat me. But I had to convince him that my situation is not that urgent form him to interrupt his trip. I had a choice for another good cardiologist to perform the procedure, but I chose to wait for him to come back to perform my procedure. Because I think he is exceptionally knowledgeable and he is the best Dr. I first trust is in God. And I trust him after God. I know when he suggest a procedure or medication, it is for my wellbeing only. Throughout the years due to my genetic issues and other issues, my heart problems has become chronic. I can see on his face how hard he is thinking about what else he can do for me. He has done everything that a great cardiologist would do for his patient. But be wants to do more. And he does more. By next visit, he has some other suggestion; either an extremely new medication or procedure. I would not hesitate to recommend him. In fact, I have recommended him to my family and friends.

My latest was to arrive - 4-5 weeks after our last appointment with a "we have to redo forms, scan insurance card, drivers license, etc as it's a new year.". Nothing has changed? "Yeah - it's our policy." Really? Policy or complete inefficiency? Inefficiency for sure. I then had to sign 3 printed sheets - (is this 2023? Or 1993?). I received a 3 page receipt which I didn't even need a printed receipt for a $15 copay. Why waste the paper and tree? Why not at least ask me if I wanted or needed? Or even better email if I need it (doubtful). Doctor experience ?- great. Office experience? - terrible.

I've been a patient at this practice for several years and had been taking the same long-term…read moreprescription without any issues. Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.
