We have gone here a lot over the years but we went tonight and my wife ordered fish and chips. the chips was a tiny portion & didn't look good. The fries were cold & tasted like they were cooked an hour before that, We complained to the waitress & she said she had noticed it didn't look good either, I had fries with my entree too, mine were hot but didn't taste any better than my wife's The fish looked and tasted like it came straight out of a frozen food section at a supermarket. I think geography should play more into some reviews. What do I mean? I've lived in the city for many years, and if I was in the city, I probably wouldn't go here. The city has a huge variety of amazing and exotic restaurants. But Hampstead? Hampstead has 3 italian restaurants, a Wendy's and a McDonalds. Given that context Greenmount is excellent. It's my favorite place to go when eating out in Hampstead. I've eaten at Greenmount around 20 times and have never had a bad experience. I'm shocked that one reviewer managed to have 3 bad experiences in a row, I've never had the salad he ordered but haven't had a bad experience yet. I'm fairly picky about food and have enjoyed almost everything I've ordered. The only thing I don't enjoy is the cream of crab soup. I could walk on it. But some people like crab soup this way. All in all, is Greenmount a glitzy hipster-approved gastro pub? No, but it is one of the best places to eat when in Hampstead. read more

From the outside, Greenmount Station appears to be your average neighborhood bar, with family-style restaurant seating in the dining room area. When you get your food, you will begin to understand what sets Greenmount apart from the rest. The Black and Bleu salad with steak and Bleu cheese is fresh and the steak is the real deal. The tuna Caesar is also delicious. Order it rare if you like it seared. If you order it medium it will come out fully cooked, not pink. The sweet jalapeño wings are all chicken, no filler or breading and pack a pleasant punch. Bison burgers are also a winner. We love to come early (5-6pm) on a Saturday and sit at the bar. The beer selection is awesome (drafts and bottles), there's a ton a cocktail varieties and the wine prices are great. Friday's can be busy around dinner time (6:00), might be worth waiting to get there till 7 or later for faster seating. Don't park at the bowling alley next store, there's spillover parking on the other side. Enjoy! read more

Great crab cakes and crab soup. Seasoned very well, all lump meat. I think they have a pretty good club sandwich too, and I think some rib specials maybe (?), although I get here infrequently enough that I rarely if ever get anything other than a crab cake and it never disappoints. read more

A group of 12 of us celebrated my father's birthday lunch at Greenmount Station. They allowed us to bring our own birthday cake and supplied the candles, plates, and cutting knife. Some of us wanted an item on the entree list, as appetizers. No problem. All of our plates came out in a timely order. We all enjoyed our food. It was perfect for a 3 generation family group. We have eaten here twice and have been very happy with the service & the food equally. The cream of crab soup is good, but a little heavy on the cream and light on the crab. Other than that they have good, salads, sandwiches, wings, and kids menu. Good place to take the family. read more

Has anyone else noticed they seem not to be trying very hard on food presentation. Last couple of times everything was just okay. I know they get busy and we like going there, even just to sit in the bar but seems like they don't care about the food they re sending out. If it's not a crab cake forget it. read more

I agree the the service is always amazing. The food is tired and the same old thing daily. It is the only really decent restaurant in Manchester/Hampstead so I think they should step up their game. Westminister is only a few more minutes down the road!! read more

Half is a restaurant, half is a sports pub. My favorite is the sports pub. It's a party on Friday nights, but it's always lots of fun. Delicious crabcakes, burgers, salads, lots of great appetizers. Terrific drinks, too, and bartenders who remember your name and favorite beverage! read more

Do not eat here! If all you are looking for is a beer in a bottle than this is the place for you. The server recommended the sangria so i tried it. It was awful and when i sent it back she already knew it was bad when she volunteered to me that it was 4 days old! Then she asked do you think i should dump the batch! WTH! Ordered onion rings and chicken fingers which were ok until 30 minutes later when I got severely sick. I will never go to this establishment again! I think the health department needs to pay this place a visit! read more

I wouldn't even rate this place one star if I had the option. My experience was absolutely horrible and I will not come back. I strongly discourage anyone else to patronage this establishment as well. Their food is not bad, it is actually good but there are plenty of restaurants in town that have great food as well as good customer service which is what Greenmount Station grossly lacks. The "bar" side is run by a bunch of servers who have no designated section there by leaving customers waiting too long for drinks, food orders and even their check when it's time to leave because they always have the assumption that "the other person has taken care of the customer". As a loyal local customer, I've always known this and did not care for the set up yet I would still go to meet with friends but never if I was in any kind of hurry. The weekend prior to Christmas this year, because the bar section is run so poorly, my debit card was run for $84 for a $4 bill. While I understand mistakes do happen, they voided the transaction without asking if I would rather have the cash (a common customer service tactic in a situation like this) and because at this point it was left to the banks and the charge was still taken from my account, my account went into the negative and I was even charged a bank fee! When I called the establishment, I was promptly placed on hold BEFORE I was even able to discuss my problem. I was on hold for no less than 13 minutes and was hung up on. When I called back and got in touch with a "manager" by the name of Mike, he was not only unhelpful but extremely rude and told me that there was nothing he could do. The week of christmas, as a single parent, I rely heavily on my paycheck and do not appreciate unauthorized amounts deducted from my account to be followed up with absolutely no remorse for all the inconvienence they had placed on a then loyal local customer. read more
