It is not often I write a review but when I see issues as big as I saw today people need warning…read more It started with one of the trainee riders' shoes being trainers, their own rules say if you where trainers you will not participate and you will not get a refund, but they let it slide and allowed the person to ride unsafely. During the demonstration before getting on the bikes riders where allowed to smoke while the demo was taking place, no medical forms were asked for to be filled in nothing taken into account for asthma or other issues about being around cigarette smoke. Also, surely teaching that it is ok to smoke next to motorbikes, when you don't know what fuel or oil may have been split on them is dreadful! During the demo there was no tutorial on adjust break leaver for your hands that cannot reach the break lever when the bike had an adjuster. Breaks...what brakes, their website specifies the routine that will be followed on the day, including a lunch break. This does not happen. However, the staff were happy to eat when they were hungry while teaching and all the students just had to wait for a lunch that did not happen. There was one toilet trip and if you are the last of the bike you get no breaks as by the time you get to your water in their hut off the carpark it is back to the bikes. Their hut has no loos you had to be escorted to the football grounds loos which is embarrassing and hope the main gates to the football grounds are unlocked. They only care if you go fast enough on their small, small carpark and Rossie it around. Watched multiple of the people not do the emergency stop correctly but still allowed to go on the road. Watched a man run over the cones and they blamed it on another rider then not do the U turn at all but still be allowed to go out. However, one of the women that was downgraded from a manual to a twist and go got the blame for running over a cone twice when one of them was the red bike, that rider was blamed for knocking the cone twice (they only did it once when told to go faster around the unsafe small area) was not allowed to go out despite us all watching her do the U turn and emergency stop as requested, all because she rode slower and safer. The instructions between the two instructors differed which as well did not make it easy to follow, one says dip the clutch when emergency stopping one said don't, one says dip the clutch when going around the corner another says ride it like there is no corner and don't slowdown, which no direction on how to handle such a tight corner at that speed. All of this when it is 28 degrees outside no consideration for cancelling or extra breaks or even advise on keeping cool, it is just suck it up princess and keep up. This company has destroyed confidence did not give it. And I would not recommend to anyone especially ladies, they have no patience or time for you. Honestly if you want a great experience for a CBT (DAS or car lessons) with instructors who care about your experience and safety give Stokes motorbike training ago.

Paid to do a CBT at the Stoke site but didn't feel confident on the bike. I hadn't rode a bike…read morebefore so had no experience. I said the bike felt too big for me and no concern was given. I ended up dropping the bike on top of me in a slow manoeuvre and it rocked my confidence. Didn't feel much encouragement and was told to "maybe book back in for a revisit". This company likes you to keep booking £75 revisits as when I came back a few days later the same outcome. In fact because there's not much option in bikes I reluctantly had to try a moped instead which wasn't the plan. I did start to get my balance and surprisingly started to enjoy it finally but as soon as I got confident in turning corners and before I could move on I was told to call it a day and come back for (yes you've guessed it) a revisit to then practice the figure of 8, u-turn etc etc stuff that should of been taught to me there and then!! Time was more spent on the more confident students as they knew they would be going out on the road. I felt I was basically taking up the instructor's time and one kept checking his watch! On my revisit I also stood for ages watching the other student do their training and it was deflating and soul destroying really. So already £205 out of pocket and since dropping the bike I have had a bill for £232.49. Plus a conversion with the owner who sarcastically thanked me for my review on my experience on Yell.com basically calling me a liar as my review wasnt true then proceeded to argue what I should of wrote in my review instead she told me that when I had explained the bike was too high for me she said they've had shorter people than me riding them with no issues!! So apparantly it's my fault I am short, my fault for not writing my review how she wanted it, my fault I didn't travel all the way Burton (45 mins away) to sit on a lower bike to see if that was better. I had mentioned the bike size to the instructor on the first day plus I mentioned it to the people at Falco about it being too high but apparantly I should of mentioned my height when booking my CBT. The owner goes on to say "Look at our reviews they are all top notch then someone comes along and gives us one star"! I noticed also throughout the 42 minute phone call the owner Janet did not ask me if I was ok after dropping the bike on me. I tried to tell her that both lessons did not start at 9am but she was adamant they did (I'm lying again then). I didn't sign any paperwork until 10:10am on the first day and on the revisit I was waiting almost an hour for another student to arrive. So I had effectively paid for the lost hour which is precious learning time taken off my training. Considering the notes on the first paperwork said "balance & confidence on corners lacking both just needs more time" I would think that's what the revisit was for right?? Both days focused mainly on the better rider so be warned. There's no time for people who can't pick it up quickly, oh but wait it's OK because you can drive a car and have a car licence so you can ride a bike!! WRONG!! Disappointing AND a waste of money for me which could of been spent on a training school that catered for every students needs such as more than two choices of bike (Honda CB125 and moped). I picked this school as it was closer to home. Wish I'd done my research more and took my time but I was so excited to learn. Its dashed my confidence now and the money needs to be found for extra training elsewhere.
