You wrote a review for Green Ghost Tacos One hour ago 3.0 star rating 9/16/2020 I had been missing this place since the pandemic started, it was national guacamole and another company was doing a deal for posting receipts of guacamole on social media, and Green Ghost Taco's instagram described a special for $2 tacos for the day so I decided to stop by shortly after 11 am when the placed opened. I was sat down by a server and ordered my guacamole which had a hair in it. No big deal, I informed the server and another one was brought to me. The issue came when I was ready to order the tacos. I was informed that the special was yesterday (which in the server's defense, there had been a special the prior day, but she also was unaware of the special today) but since instagram sometimes shows old posts i shrugged it off and ordered a lunch special instead. When my food came out, I decided to check instagram just to make sure i didn't misinform anyone of the special and noticed that it was today. So I went inside to show my server and ask about the special, and kind of process everything that happened. When she came back to the table, she said that my meal would be discounted and asked if I wanted anymore tacos. I said no at the time, because I also felt like something was different about the food. I felt like the quality of the tacos had changed compared to the previous time I went, and still was trying to process the hair in the guacamole along with the fact that I was misinformed about the special. So my server comes back again and I asked what would be the final decision on the cost of the meal, especially if I was going to order another taco. She quickly brushed me off and said that I could talk to management which I probalby should've done initially, so I agreed to do this. Management came, I explained the whole situation, and the meal was comped. I feel like I just didn't enjoy my experience at this restaurant at all - which I have loved in in the past, and then received a $15 gift card (i did tell management i felt as though the way the server was acting was very off, and I have only had one other bad experience with a server than I can recall in the past similar to this one). Word of advice: I would just review specials with servers before the day starts (or if you're the server, being aware of what is happening for the day). Granted - I could've thought in the moment to show the special to the server, but just brushed it off since I assumed she knew what she was talking about. Also, I feel as though we all have difficult days regardless of what service we work in, and being negative towards anyone you are providing services to doesn't change whatever you are experiencing. It leads to a negative experience for someone who is paying you, and was going to tip you, and multiple people being dissatisfied. Not sure if I will return, and am kind of disappointed in the choice to go. read more

The Chicken Tacos on corn tortillas was gross. The black beans and rice were lukewarm. The green and red sauce had no flavor. Tried this place out for the first and last time. I expected better. Not recommended. Yuck. read more

Let me say...I have never had a bad experience here. Today, very different story. Walked in and was greeted promptly. The young lady helping us was nice, didn't know much about alcoholic options but that can be overlooked. Ordered our food and we received our dips quick. That was as far as quick went. We ordered a total of 6 tacos. That's all...six tacos. 30 mins later we noticed tables that came in well after us and ordered about 10 mins prior getting their food. I asked the waitress if she could check on our food and said said "it's coming now". She then precedes to bring us another tables order who literally was only sitting there 10 mins. I tell her that's not our food and she takes it back. After about 10 mins I finally just ask for the check. You'd think it would be straight forward from there...again...no. Took another length of time to receive the check of which to my surprise had everything we had ordered on it minus the tacos. Ok, I'll pay for the dips and drink but seriously...you are going to charge me for the cheese dip and piss poor guac after waiting almost an hour for my food? Ok. So I asked to speak with the manager to which he told me " ya your order was put in 31 mins ago and it's still not ready" (which tells me it was 15 mins late being put in but ok). I tell him that as a manager it's his job to make it right and he just nods..that's it, says yea and nods. Tells me that he can't take off any items because I ate them and he can't take off alcohol because it's a law. Lie.. not a law...but ok. I ask for a to-go container for my dips...never happened. I gave my card to pay and it took another 10 mins. Seriously...what is going on here. I will note the manager said "when you come back look for me and I'll get your tacos". How about you get them now!? Why do you think I'll come back here? This used to be my fave place to eat but you have seriously lost a customer over $25. Didn't make it right and sucked at customer service. I can look past kitchen issues and short staffing but this was absolutely ridiculous. read more

This was our first visit to Green Ghost and it blew us away. We had a party of six and ordered the breakfast burrito, chicken tacos, pork tacos, shrimp tacos, quesadillas, queso and chips. Everyone agreed that everything we ordered was the best that we've ever eaten. GGT earned five stars in taste, service, and selection but didn't have a kid's menu. That wasn't the end of the world as they were very accommodating to our requests. We ordered cheese quesadillas for the kids and everyone was happy. read more

Waiter got us drinks and never came back to take our order. Waited nearly 30 minutes before deciding to just call it quits. Didn't seem busy at all on a Tuesday afternoon. Not the first time receiving terrible customer service but thought I'd give it another try. Last visit to this establishment. I hope they really get better. read more

They have a wonderful array of meats and a superb selection of sauces. Delicious tacos and the burritos were packed with flavor and freshness. My only drawback from rated a perfect 5 out of 5 stars is the pricing. They are fairly consistent with the prices of the other locals but tacos could be a little cheaper when they're the "special" for the day. But I do have to reiterate the fact the food is delicious and so flavorful. read more

Underwhelmed...wish we had gone to Babalu. Very slow service and our server forgot two items we requested. The food is over priced for the quality, ambience and service. This place should be a walk-up taco stand. Save yourself some time and money and head over to Babalu! read more

As a Mexican-American, let's just say I know a good taco. I started off going to the ridgeland location which I recommend, but wanted to check out the fondren location bc it is an area I throughly enjoy and frequent. This was a couple weeks ago but I remember my dining experience. I usually always order the standard carne asada (steak) taco anywhere that has tacos as a base to judge on. The ones at green ghost aren't the best carne asada tacos I've ever had, but they probably come close as to the top ones in the Jackson area (aside from the ones served at the Mexican club that I've strictly gone to for authentic tacos.) I also usually order the barbacoa, marinated pork and shrimp. The shrimp is my absolute favorite. Shrimp is perfectly cooked and juicy and seasoned well. Salsa's are a staple in authentic taco world and the ones at green ghost are flavorful and spot on, they have a varying degree of spice. As for dessert, if you're into caramel and custards, I highly recommend ordering the flan here, you will not be disappointed! This location is a lot more hip than the one in ridgeland and I really like the decorations and feel of this location. The paintings they have are sooo cool and I wish I knew who the artist was bc I'd love to buy their work. Service started off a tad rocky when I went to eat with my friend, it was at an odd time, like around 2:30-3 so we were the only people there. We were seated by a guy and when I requested to be sat in the middle by the window in the center instead of more towards the corner he made it very clear I annoyed him with my request by rolling his eyes and exhaling loudly. I didn't know it was such a bother to ask to be seated three tables down before our drink orders and while nobody else was there. What an unnecessary attitude! Thankfully he wasn't our server, who happened to be very friendly and knowledgeable on everything (even if I was already highly familiar with ingredients, being Mexican) I wish I remembered his name Bc he was wonderful! They offer alcoholic drinks at this location and despite the attitude-y bartender he made me a good margarita, better than most in the area. I heard they will be closing this location due to the boutique hotel but hope they find another home in fondren as it is an asset to the fondren community and to authentic tacos! read more

My husband and I came here for dinner. It was seat yourself and they immediately served us yummy chips and salsa when we sat down. Get the queso-it's delicious. The restaurant was very warm and since we were already hot from walking around town on a typical humid Mississippi day, we both looked like we were about to pass out from heat exhaustion. They had a little stand up fan that the waitress kindly pointed in our direction without us even asking. (Thank you, Jackye!) I got a strawberry/mango frozen margarita (recommended by our waitress) and it was delicious. (Lighter on the alcohol than your average Mexican restaurant, but it tasted so good that I didn't care) We got the americano soft tacos and a cheese quesadilla, all incredibly good. (I got my taco without tomatoes) It did take 45m-1hr for our food to arrive, so when it did we asked for a to-go box and that was brought to us quickly. I'm not sure if that's an average wait time or if it was just busy and short staffed that night.... but even as "left overs," the food was amazing and we'll definitely be going back the next time we're Fondren! read more

So the food is pretty good! Different from the average Mexican restaurant! However, the service is absolutely unacceptable! I've been there twice and the service was bad both times! I was really hoping I just happened to go on an off day the first time but clearly that is not the case! Too be clear, I'm not one to typically review but I feel that my most current experience was enough to share. We were told there wasn't room for us inside even though there was table large enough inside... so we sat outside in the cold and we were okay with it. However, our drink orders took forever! And I'm not just talking about margaritas, the beer too! The waitress asked us multiple times what we ordered and still couldn't get the order correct. I even had to go inside and ask other wait staff what the deal was. One of my friends didn't get his food until after the rest of us were completely finished. Ultimately, I can't see this place making it very long unless the get their act together! I hate this too because the outdoor patio is a great space and the food is descent. read more
