Green Acres saved my dog, Moncho. My husky got into my other dog's anxiety medication and ate about 40 pills. I truly didn't think he was going to make it. He spent four days and four nights in the ICU there, and the staff and doctors were absolutely amazing every step of the way. They never seemed annoyed by my constant calls. In fact, they called me regularly with updates. They were in constant communication with poison control to guide them through safely treating the toxicity. They also understood this would be expensive and discussed cost-saving options with me -- without me even asking. When it comes to my dogs, I'll pay whatever it takes, but that meant so much to me. I'll be honest -- I was scared to bring my dog there after reading some reviews. But my experience was completely different. Losing a pet or seeing them sick is heartbreaking, and I think sometimes reviews are written from a place of fear, grief, or frustration. What I saw were doctors and techs who truly care about animals and chose this field because they love them. I didn't think my dog would ever come home -- but he did. And now he's back to his normal self. I 100% recommend Green Acres if your pet is sick. Thank you to the entire staff and doctors -- especially Dr. Harock -- for saving my boy and taking such incredible care of him. We are forever grateful!

Rip-OFF. Place needs to be shutdown. They want to board your animal for as long as possible to rake in their outrageous boarding fees.

Long-time client. Lost my cat today. Read this before you need them in a crisis…read more We've trusted Brighton-Eggert with a dog and three cats for years. The doctors are genuinely excellent -- no complaints there. But when my cat was actively dying and I desperately needed an appointment, they had nothing and sent me to urgent care or emergency care. The urgent care vet was limited in what he could do without my cat's full medical history and test results. Only Brighton-Eggert had it. Comprehensive blood work for the last few years, every 4-6 months. And also the result of the echocardiogram. When your fur baby is dying, you need compassion -- and that's exactly what was missing. A truly compassionate practice shows up for you in the worst moments. This wasn't that. The problems don't stop there. They've also stopped sending prescriptions to third-party pharmacies, a move that forces you to use their in-house pharmacy. They're not in the business of putting your pet first; they're in the business of protecting their revenue streams. Other reviews tell the same story: great vets, but a lack of compassion when you truly need them. If your pet is healthy, they're fine. But if you're facing a crisis, you may find that the compassion and continuity of care you're paying premium prices for simply isn't there. Premium pricing should come with premium support, at least compassionate support, when it matters most. It didn't for us. The doctors are genuinely excellent. But management has lost its way. Read the owner's responses to negative reviews and judge for yourself. We gave them our loyalty and our money without hesitation. What we needed in return was compassion. We didn't get it.

I am only sharing this as a learning experience for anyone that has a people reactive dog, and…read moreperhaps the staff. I described my dog as "severely people reactive" and the vet tech proceeded to look at him directly in the eyes, talk baby voice to him, get down to his eye level on the ground while giving him treats, make him give paws and touching his paws to give him a treat and then rubbed up and down his back to find a spot I was referencing while she was down on the ground level with him. I did not step in or intervene because it is an interesting dynamic with an animal medical professional, and I have now learned that I need to be more of an advocate for him, even in a setting where you think the term "severely people reactive" would be understood to mean do not do any of the things listed above. The dog screamed, lunged, and muzzle punched her in the face, but it was not something that needed to happen. We waited 90 minutes in that room for the physical exam to not go further, when I would think a people reactive dog could have the courtesy to wait in the car until ready. Also, the dog encountered five separate people coming in that room, which is not great either. Also, there is a window in the door, and one of the staff told another staff member probably how handsome he was, so then that other staff member went up to the window to look down into the room at the dog and make more eye contact with him. All of these things are so triggering to a people reactive dog, that it went from an already stressful situation, to completely impossible and unfair to expect him to function in that space. All I wanted was blood drawn, a spot checked on his back and a tick-borne test done, which I think could have happened while I was holding his front, and skip all of the other nonsense and send us on our way. I learned a lot. If you have a people reactive dog, be VERY explicit with what needs to happen in that appointment, even if you do not think you have to spell it out like that. Otherwise, the staff was kind enough and the facility is fine.

But my pet is in your system, as patient? 3.6 is too liberal for them. I can't handle this level of heartbreak. Choose a vet you can trust or go to City Creatures, There are reviews from long time patients here that show you what you can expect. Never felt that I had to use colorful language on the phone until now. Our senior dog has a history or arthritis and he recently tore his ACL in his good hind leg. We called right away to get an appointment. Unfortunately, that Thursday was full and they didn't have an opening until Wednesday. We booked for the next Wednesday but the receptionist explained that they have a few time slots reserved each day Monday through Friday and said to call at 8 am to see if we could take advantage of it on Friday. Thankfully we were able to utilize these and got seen Friday. We are going back for an orthopedic brace fitting to help the leg heal properly. In the meantime we are administering CBD oil and gabapentin for pain management. This alone has made a significant difference in our old man's comfort. He is wanting to play again and isn't spending all day in pain. We were concerned the only option would be surgery given the injury and while that was discussed as a possibility were never pressured to take one treatment plan over the other. It's very refreshing to go to a vets office that you can trust is not trying to up sell you or encouraging unnecessary testing and diagnostics. We also take our rescue puppy to Pinewoods and have had a great experience as well. Our little guy had an ER visit for pancreatitis and pinewoods called us the day after discharge to see how he was doing and to make sure we had everything we needed. Talk about feeling like a valued customer. I would refer anyone over to Pinewoods.

The doctor never introduced herself when she entered the room. Then, when I explained to her that trazodone was a sedative, and I give it to my dogs to calm them down occasionally (like twice a year), she became very defensive. I was very concerned about the Doctor getting so defensive over me answering her questions thoroughly and knowledgeably for her. She even openly expressed insecurity about her medical knowledge. She made me genuinely concerned that she didn't understand the simple common uses of trazodone, this was a giant red flag for me. It was very apparent to me that she hadn't even taken the time to read, let alone understand either of my dogs' medical histories. At that point in time, I introduced myself and asked her to do the same. After the visit, Wendy called me to have a very passive-aggressive conversation. It took her 10 minutes to admit that the reason she was calling is because they don't want us as patients. I offered feedback on how the doctor could be more professional to avoid simple confrontations, and Wendy flat-out told me that they weren't interested in how to better serve their clients. This place has forgotten what basic customer service means. They're not professionals. Professionals earn the respect they want. Professionals respect customers enough to atleast introduce themselves upon meeting them, if nothing else.

Less than one minute after I left, I heard someone say "what a good girl". Phew. She did great with them, absolutely fantastic. What a relief.
