Here's why: My son was abruptly expelled from Allendale Columbia, and the school has made no attempt to rectify the situation. I'm going to communicate the facts of the situation and let you draw your own conclusions about how students are treated by Allendale Columbia. As background, my son (a first grader) has some mild behavioral issues that I acknowledge can be a challenge to deal with. We were working with the school, my son's pediatrician, and my son's therapist. We were seeing positive improvements and our impression was that things were headed in a good direction. On February 24th, 2021, at approximately noon, I informed Allendale Columbia that we might not be returning to the school for the following school year. On the same day, at 3:45pm, I received a call from Interim Head of School Shannon Baudo. Baudo claimed there had been "an incident" in the after school program, provided few details, and told me that my son was expelled from school effective immediately. He never had a chance to say goodbye to his friends or collect his belongings. We never received a written incident report. Two days later, on February 26th, my wife and I had a phone call with Baudo and the lower school principal Michelle Feiss. By this time, Baudo's story changed, and she insinuated that my six year old son had acted inappropriately towards a girl in the after school program. This is an allegation I take extremely seriously, so I called the parents of the girl, who were not aware of the severity of the situation. The school has still provided no proof, and no written incident report. The school refused to refund any tuition, even the tuition for the portion of the school year we did not receive. Only you can make decisions for your family. However, I feel that I'd be doing a disservice to the parent community in Rochester if I did not make you aware of this event, and the school's callous and abrupt response.

Both groups raved about it and commented how great it was to do something different. The owner, Mike, was friendly and very welcoming. Megan was phenomenally helpful in providing information, answering questions, and even giving me a tour of the space prior to booking. Our group ranged in age 30's-60's and it was great fun for all. Highly recommend! Can't wait to go pick up our masterpieces and an already planning when I can go back for some classes on my own!

She explained every single thing that would be taking place including with who and how long it would take so I could plan my breaks and meals. The doctors are the best in neuromuscular diseases. I have a rare form of muscular dystrophy that they helped discovered and train the experts. This was a breath of air because they knew before I had to tell them and I didn't have to explain anything. They are the best of the best and this clinic was just top knotch. I wish I was closer so they could be the ones treating me full time but confident that they did an excellent job with the doctors I see now that trained here. Everything went as planned and finished exactly when anticipated. They are all amazing and this was a perfect visit.

While not a breathtaking campus, UR is nice. The heart of campus has some nice architecture and I walked into the library (shh . . .). After taking in the sights, I went back to my car and hit the road for Syracuse.

It has a great balance of feeling both intimate and structured. There is very little staff turnover and the staff really care about the kids. We also love that they're not-for-profit. We were here for about a half a year before switching to another daycare that was closer to our house--but found the new daycare was nowhere near up to par (high staff turnover, chaotic environment, young staff on their cell phones). We came back to 12 Corners after a few months and have not regretted moving back at all. Child care isn't cheap, but that's the case for a lot of places now, and it's definitely worth it to not be worried about dropping my child off every morning.

Turns out that wasn't the case at all. The "proper personnel" was actually a fill in from a different department because apparently they couldn't keep a financial aid advisor on the payroll. To make a very long story short, I eventually had to withdraw from my studies because of a combination of personal issues and lack of financial aid. I have been receiving emails since April asking me to update my financial aid information until about a week ago when i received a bill from Isabella Graham Hart with my financial aid and student loans applied to my costs. To say i was furious is an understatement, I could have been going to school this entire time and graduated with my class. Of course no one has picked up my many calls nor has anyone returned my many voicemails. I pray to God they get notifications of their reviews so that maybe someone can finally reach out back out to me before I take legal action.
